I'm here to remake "New Shaolin Temple" - good ingredients, I didn't cook it well, I packed it up and went home to stir fry

Before 119 minutes of the movie, "New Shaolin Temple" felt to me like a commercial movie with a lot of stars. However, the scene was not surprising. But I'm embarrassed to complain, after all, it's not in the cinema.
When Hou Jie sacrificed his life to save Cao Man, I was astonished, why did the movie always have a higher purpose at the end. Looking awkward.
Everything is implying that this is a well-established commercial film. Until Andy Lau put the finishing touch:
"Cao Man is here, his fault is also mine, only I can save him."
Everything suddenly became clear. The center of the film should be here: individual self-redemption, relying on the background of Chinese Buddhist culture, breaking free from the shackles of family hatred and national hatred, and showing it in a shocking and strong contrast.
But it would be too risky to pin such a lofty theme on a sentence at the end. I must have misunderstood the writer-director's idea in good faith.
People open fast food spots to earn popularity and sell money. I am here to listen to stories and enjoy a spiritual and nutritious meal. Not right.
Then again, good food wasted. You need to pack it home and cook it yourself. And let me go back to being a director with a bluff:
if this theme can be integrated into the overall narrative structure, the clues lie in these two protagonists. Let Hou Jie in the early stage and Cao Man in the later stage be more similar in character details, do not highlight the absolute opposition between justice and evil, and weaken some minor themes that are in the details. The social and cultural environment of Henan, as well as the unique regional customs of Henan. Other places can be as lighthearted and humorous as possible, so that the movie is not too dull.
Such a nutritious and delicious thing, I can only YY myself.

    Cook: The gold, of course.

Abbot: But to a seed? Never underestimate yourself. Everyone has a purpose.

  • Cook: [to Huo Jie] I don't know an of this, all i know is it's worthless to train just the moves without the spirit.
