Desire for life! A masterpiece about life and human nature, in this movie, Kurosawa reaches the pinnacle of his spiritual world. The spiritual definition of life and death, the strong irony of the government, the in-depth analysis of human nature, and the thorough reflection on life are so deeply rooted and vivid. I personally think that this film has reached the peak of Kurosawa's movies. I am fortunate to be able to see such a classic that shocks the soul. Shimura Joe’s performance deserves to be highly praised as Mifune. This is also how Mifune and Kurosawa Akira started Cooperation, until the end of the work together, the only film that did not participate. Even today, more than 50 years later, this movie still shines with indelible light, always shining on the faces of you and me. Excerpted from the short commentary, the original author, Runwu, personally thinks that it is very good to some extent in line with my ideas, so excerpted and deleted!
