I actually finished watching the four parts of the UFO hat. Li Rengang's obsession with flying saucer caps has surpassed his repeated polishing of the soundtrack and light and shadow.
My viewing order is very coincidental. It happened to be in historical order. I fell in love with this director after watching this film, and went back to watch "Hongmen Banquet", "Seeing the Dragon Remove Armor" and "Jin Yiwei". Then I found out that the director really has something, and seems to be considered the third-generation head of martial arts films. The pictures are really beautiful, the music is really exquisite, and he should be an excellent director on a technical level. In terms of content, there are always niche ones, a sense of vicissitudes of the rivers and lakes and a sense of happiness and enmity. He also has an obsession with the Western Regions and always creates a desolate hero in the desert. His works are very martial arts, delicately depicting the mental journey of the characters, and the grievances and hatreds are dripping. Except for Xiang Wang, who was not injured before the Hundred People Kill, none of the protagonists was in full state until the final battle. Except for Huo An, none of the protagonists survived the ending. All four are good stories. These four works are all suitable for one person, turn off the lights and watch them with headphones.
I have to say that the level of the director is very high, but he is considered a failure of the transformation of Hong Kong directors. This is not a question of inconsistency with history, it is friction of historical geography on the ground. All are warriors in cloaks.
The first part: Jinyiwei is not very ancient, and the clothing style is easy to find, but it is here that the nondescript Rengang movie universe begins. Originally, no one could compare, but fortunately, "Embroidered Spring Knife" came out later. In comparison, this is a joke. Tuotuo is a Mongolian name, but wearing clothes from the Western Regions, the illusion of really taking off clothes is a big move. It can be seen that the director has no respect for the mainland culture and has no thought of it at all.
Sub-department: Seeing that the dragon disarms and Liu Bei is actually named Shu, anyway, you are in the air, Shu is Shu, and the slogan behind the key is still a big man. Guan Gong's image is also unacceptable. Here, China's territory has been reduced and stretched from east to west. Regardless of the completely disordered location, the topography of the Central Plains is actually the Gobi Desert. Here we know that the armor style and UFO cap have not changed for more than a thousand years from the Three Kingdoms to the Ming Dynasty. Specifically, I will not complain anymore. There are a lot of fans of the Three Kingdoms. You have to hit the gun and have been scolded badly. But objectively speaking, the Zhao Zilong portrayed is much more plump than Zhao Yun in the drama or the honest filming of Romance of the Three Kingdoms (note that the names before and after are different, this is the key point).
Three: The Legend of Hongmen Banquet, the history of the same set of costumes can be traced back to the Qin Dynasty; it turned out that the Gobi Desert could be desertified to Jiangsu. Zhang Han gave a godfather-like character to play Zhang Liang, and the king next to him was very uncomfortable.
The final part: Tian Jiang Xiong Shi, this one is my favorite one, it satisfies many history lovers YY's Rome against Qin and Han (although Han Fang is not a regular army). I finally found that the costumes and the environment are in the same line. It is estimated that the crew is trying to save money. After all, these four scenes are not small. In fact, there is no need to complain when Rome speaks English, after all, the Western Han also speaks contemporary Mandarin. The loyalty and betrayal here, the trust and mutual assistance that break national borders, moved the audience, and really heated up the feelings. Except for Jackie Chan, a tall and complete person, there are problems. "Lights of Rome" really feels like listening to a chorus in a theater. The scene where the tribes united against Tibis was amazing, because there were many details of different arms, and suddenly there was a sense of sight of the Lord of the Rings. I don't know if everyone has a prejudice against Jackie Chan, even if the historical twist is that the tetralogy is the weakest, the score actually failed. In this case, how did "Hongmen Banquet" and "The Climber" get to the sixth place.
Extra: Tomb Raiders Notes, he finally broke one billion! But the audience wasn't running for him. To be fair, this director's style is not very obvious. After all, Li Rengang, who is very particular about action, will not release disgusting slow-motion footage. The appearance of the little brother seems to explain his life experience again: Xiang Yu fled to Rome after his defeat and became the prince of Thebes, and after being defeated by the coalition forces in the Western Regions, he lived in seclusion for two thousand years and became Zhang Qiling (otherwise, why is Jing Boran so dark). Combining the general ideas of the original nine books to make a brand new story is really not easy. It is not bad to be able to do this. I would rather believe that the screenwriters of the three fat men are not destroying their own works. The point of the circle is that the armor style of the vegetative person is similar to the main story above. I'd say it really doesn't look like a Lee In Gang movie. The first is the action mentioned above. He will never repeatedly emphasize that Jing Boran does not know martial arts and is very unprofessional. Second, he is definitely not capable of doing things like dancing on graves. Third, he pays attention to chivalry. Qi, he will never sell rot; fourth, he is good at dimming, and he should feel shivering when he does it. It is not his level to be so bright in the tomb.
Extra 2: Old Boy Raptors Crossing the River, there is a shadow of his style in the Chopsticks Brothers rumor, this producer is not in vain, but after all, it is not a direct line work, and the bad film has nothing to do with him.
Extra 3: Climber, the producer is worried about him and sent someone to take care of the clothes, so this time strictly speaking, it does not belong to the UFO cap series. Wu Jing's anti-gravity is really not Zhan? Wolf's fault, because it is true that you can jump so high in the Rengang universe, and love scenes are not what he is good at. He really tried his best not to be so embarrassing.
The reason why the four-part series is named is because there is no big pit history in Fanwai, and the director's style is not obvious. Although I also gave low marks to the other three parts of the quartet (mainly alternate histories and advertised themselves as historical films), I still liked them very much;
When you watch Captain America, it's no surprise that Iron Man pops up. In the same way, because of the serious dance drama, I will call it Rengang Universe. Very much looking forward to Donnie Yen, Andy Lau, Feng Shaofeng, Jackie Chan, Jing Boran and Wu Jing fighting in the same scene.
Later, after I read some film reviews complaining about "The Tomb Raiders" and "The Climber", I found that this guy is a prolific director, no wonder he is technically mature, and the plot does not take care of most audiences. This can also explain that the director's personal style is less in stealing and climbing. Stealing a pen is a sudden money-making movie, the pursuit is as fast as possible and economical; the climbing has to be in time for the 70th anniversary of the National Day gift, this subject is inherently difficult and inexperienced, and it is necessary to shoot some scenes on the plateau snow-capped mountains, crew training and other miscellaneous things When the time is crowded, it is really hasty. At this time, even Hollywood estimates that it is not as high as his completion.
Li Rengang still has a lot to learn from mainland directors. His proficiency in technology is beyond the reach of many directors today.
A fair word: he really doesn't fit into mainstream movies.
