A family

The father, mother, son and daughter make up a family, and they play a different role respectively.

The daughter has a pure mind, she is smart and adorable, bringing happiness to her father and family, but she also caused some trouble mindlessly because of ignorance.

The mother is a carer, caring for elderly person as her job outdoors, caring for her son and daughter as her job indoors, and helping her husband to handle some troubles. The moment she swears is when she is broken down, confronted with the mess and especially the unfairness in the society.

The son, without him this family could have been more harmony, skipping school and shoplifting, he pushed the development of this story, that more pressure and less time for work is provided for his parents.

The father, the slave under the social environment of labor class, takes responsibility to raise the family and feed their children, despite of the salary from his wife. He really can't get rid of his job, taking the risk of 100 pounds for replacement. The first time for replacement is when he went to the police office due to his son's crime. The second time, he couldn't find his key of van because the daughter hidden it. Thirdly, the climax came from the social crime that gang punched him fiercely and destroyed that black scanning machine which worth 1000 pounds. Importantly, however, there is no mercy from his supervisor and therefore no tolerance for him to apply another replacement. Otherwise, he is not the blue-eyes child in the employer's eyes and will lose his job in great debt.

Nobody knows what would happen when he still drove his van to go for work in an injured unhealthy state, despite of all his family members' improvement. Nobody can give him an answer at present, so only continuing to move on the road is what he could do.

This is a concentrated short story that might happen in every common family. Be a nice husband and a nice son, let each other's live be easier, if nobody else care about us. Life is unfair and not easy, but we still get to work on it.

Ken Loach's new work once again reflects a wide range of institutional problems while penetrating into the hearts of the lower-level characters. 1. Focus on the sad life of a courier (no guarantee, piece rate, contract relationship) and a carer (no overtime pay), one is in a hurry every day, and the other may need to accompany the elderly at any time. 2. All efficiency indicators follow suit. The courier scanner has become the slave owner of all the couriers, losing itself endlessly in the system of capital time. 3. In addition to the status quo of the express delivery industry and the problems of aging and elderly care, the education of children of working families has also become a problem. The son who is mischievous and stealing makes the powerless family worse. 4. Although the climax and ending are a little dramatic, they never deviate from life in the end. Ken Rocky is old and firm, and he expresses steadily that we need such a movie that faces the real dilemma directly. 5. Paint spray bottle with [I'm Black]. 6. The nightmare of falling into quicksand - the harder you work, the more you sink into the bottomless abyss. (8.0/10)

If we talk about Joker what are we talking about? When replacing Gotham with Newcastle and London with Beishangguang, when changing the red-nosed clown with a courier brother, a nurse, a big sister, or each of you and I who are deeply involved in 996, when you are beaten, robbed, and demanded by the company for compensation, You can't draw a gun to kill someone and then turn into a villain. You can only silently apologize in the hospital with swear words, and then go to work even if you are blind in one eye. I also remembered the debate about pressing the complaint button for the courier brother, the right to press or the right to do good? In this world where no one ever makes mistakes on purpose, but is always wrong, we have long lost the rights we thought we had. We worked hard to run our family, just to be calmer when we were overwhelmed by the torrent of the times. . I missed a client because I was late, and I missed the growth of my children because I was neglectful. But one day I couldn't hold it any longer and I was completely desperate. Who would feel sorry for missing us? In the middle of the night on Broadway, everyone was silenced by the movie, and a small motorcycle whizzed past the window. Well, I hope his order arrives safely within the time limit.

Sorry We Missed You quotes

  • Abbie Turner: This is my family, and I'm telling you now, nobody messes with my family.

  • Ricky: I don't know what's got into you, I really don't. You're a smart kid just like Liza. You used to be in all the top sets. What is going on? Just give yourself some choices mate.

    Abbie Turner: Seb?

    Seb: Hmm-mm?

Abbie Turner: We've talked about this. You could go to uni.

Seb: Go to uni? What, and be like Harpoon's brother? £57 grand in debt and what? Working in a call centre now, getting smashed every weekend just to forget his problems. Of course.

Ricky: Yeah, but it doesn't have to be like that does it? There's some good jobs out there.

Seb: Good jobs? What good jobs?

Ricky: Well there is if you just knuckle down. Give yourself some options. Otherwise you're just going to end up like...

    Seb: What, like you?

    Ricky: Oh fucking nice!

    Abbie Turner: Seb...

Seb: Do you really think I want that? Really?

    Ricky: Yeah...

Seb: Well yeah of course I do don't I? I want to be like you.

Ricky: Yeah, going from shit job to shit job, working 14 hours a day, having to put up with everyone else's shit. Going from one shit job to another shit job. You're just going to end up a skivvy.

Seb: A skivvy? It's your choice to be a skivvy isn't it? A skivvy doesn't come to, you, you go to it - right?

Ricky: I'm doing my best Seb.

Seb: Maybe your best isn't good enough, is it?
