Stunned

After watching "Population", I was really pounded. A pair of children, a tree, and a particularly simple story, are very heart-warming. What I feel most deeply is that girls have a detached sense of self-reflection in their teenage years, and they examine whether the person they love is worthy of love. Once she touched her self-esteem, she immediately decided to give up this boy. The "love" in our culture seems to be low in the dust, and it is love to give up self-esteem. "Punching Heart" is a very simple story, but very rich. The main topic is about children's early love. In fact, this movie also talks about pursuing one's own dreams, respecting, hardworking, how to treat poverty, how to accept disabled family members, and how to maintain one's self-esteem.

I really like this way of telling stories. The greatest success of a movie is to make it comfortable to watch! Simple first love, ignorant love, sometimes more touching than sadomasochism of eachother.

  • Chet Duncan: Some of us get dipped in flat, some in satin, some in gloss, but every once in a while you find someone who's iridescent, and once you do, nothing will ever compare.

  • Juli Baker: [on why she's interested in Bryce] I guess it's something about his eyes... or maybe his smile.

Richard Baker: Well, what about him?

    Juli Baker: What?

Richard Baker: You have to look at the whole landscape.

Juli Baker: What does that mean?

Richard Baker: A painting is more than the sum of its parts. A cow by itself is just a cow, a meadow by itself is just grass, flowers... and the sun peeking through the trees is just a beam of light, but you put them all together... and it can be magic.
