Let go and be yourself, don't be afraid of worldly rules

I kind of like it, this kind of unrequited romance. Like a novel I was reading recently - Walk Into Your Good Night. I don't know why this movie was labeled "same-sex". Maybe this is the public view. I was very impressed by the picture of this uncle talking to his friend. The friend said, "Do you know what the basis of mainstream is? It's mediocrity." , do not be afraid of all worldly boxes. I don't think having the same sex can generalize this at all, and neither can love. Even a vulgar person like me knows how crazy an artist can be, but the art of writing is boundless romance, and the pursuit of beauty is worth more than ten million. These few screenshots, I think, are very visual and can sum up the movie in my eyes. I define them as:

irreversible past
The first encounter in the flashy world
communication with dreams
out of reach

There are very few lines in this movie, but sometimes the silent is better than the sound, and the sound is just right. I came to see Pretty Boy (super superficial, but I watched this movie more than the character's face.

Death in Venice quotes

  • Gustav von Aschenbach: I remember we had one of these in my father's house. The aperture through which the sand runs is so tiny that... that first it seems as if the level in the upper glass never changes. To our eyes it appears that the sand runs out only... only at the end... and until it does, it's not worth thinking about... 'til the last moment... when there's no more time left to think about it.

  • Gustav von Aschenbach: You know sometimes I think that artists are rather like hunters aiming in the dark. They don't know what their target is, and they don't know if they've hit it. But you can't expect life to illuminate the target and steady your aim. The creation of beauty and purity is a spiritual act.

Alfred: No Gustav, no. Beauty belongs to the senses. Only to the senses.
