The film opens with a mother telling her children a bedside story. The story recounts the untimely death of a businessman's wife, who alone raised six children. Among the three boys and three girls, he has the best relationship with his youngest daughter, Belle. In bad times, his three merchant ships sank in the storm, leaving his family impoverished. Bella was originally the youngest daughter of a wealthy businessman. She is different from the two sisters who are exaggerated and vain, and a warm, happy and harmonious family life constitutes her main axis. His father's unexpected business failure, and the family escaped from worldly wealth and came to a villa in the country. She grew flowers, grass and vegetables there, and lived a down-to-earth life.
One day, on his way home, a businessman stumbled into a mysterious castle in a blizzard. There was no one in the castle, but there was a sumptuous meal, and the gifts he prepared for his daughters, as if the castle knew what was on his mind. Just as he was about to leave, he remembered that Belle asked for a rose, so he picked one and gave it to her. When it was too late, a monster suddenly threw him to the ground, told him that a rose is a life, and asked him to sacrifice his life to him. After the businessman returned, he told his family that in order to save his father, Belle resolutely went to the castle and sacrificed herself to replace her father.
After Belle arrived at the castle, not only was she not killed by beasts, but she also accepted food and hospitality and Chinese clothing as gifts, but she could not step out of the castle at night and lived a very comfortable life. At first, Belle was very afraid of the hideous face of the beast, but the beast was actually more reluctant to see Belle's disgusting and fearful eyes. Every night Belle dreams of a handsome prince who loves to hunt. Needless to say, that's the beast. Gradually, she understood why the beast fell into the fate of the beast, and also knew that only love can lift the curse.
The forest fairy longs for human love, and turns a golden deer into a human figure to fall in love with an unwitting prince. The prince did not listen to his lover's advice and insisted on killing the beautiful golden deer. After reaching his goal, the prince realized that the white naked body with golden arrows was actually his wife. When it was too late, the fairy's father, the king of the forest, punished the prince by turning him into a beast, and it took another woman who fell in love with the prince to break the spell.
But Belle starts to miss her family and asks the Beast to let her go back to see her family one last time. The Beast agreed, giving her a day and telling her that if she didn't come back as promised, he would die.
Bella got permission to go home to visit relatives for a day. When she got home, she found that her family was full of people. Her father fell ill in bed because of her departure. The family was surprised and happy to see Bella, but it also caused Bella's brothers to covet the treasure of the beast. When she was not paying attention, he stole her horse and took the debtor to the castle to steal the treasure.
Their unscrupulous actions angered the beasts, who went on a killing spree in defense of the castle. Bella arrived before the final tragedy, but the robber head took the arrow that killed the forest elf and stabbed the beast, and the beast fell to the ground.
With the help of his brothers, the beast returned to the water with magical power. The prince of the beast, who had been cast by the forest god under the spell of "beastization" because he did not understand love and compassion for all living beings, washed away the lead in the end. To regain inner peace and satisfaction, to be able to work hard in the rose farm, and to live together sweetly with his wife Belle like an ordinary farmer.
