Educational films labelled "same-sex"

Knowing this movie a few years ago, I was curious because of the label of "same sex". However, at that time, I was ignorant and could not find resources, and I always felt regret. Some time ago, I accidentally saw it at station B, and decided to cache it. After reading it twice, I felt more and more that the lines were full of meaning.

The film tells the story of several boys who are actively preparing for Cambridge and Oxford after completing their A-Level exams. The film focuses on the confrontation of the educational concepts of the old and new teachers, which is very exciting. Teacher Hector teaches students to read poetry, teach students to improvise performances, and teach students some knowledge that is useless in applying for college and can only be used as scraps of papers, but it really affects students' lives. The new teachers have the opposite style. They have a very clear purpose. They study according to the requirements of the exam. Studying is only one goal, and they get high marks in the exam and eventually go to Oxford or Cambridge.

So, what kind of education should be given to students? Useless accumulation? Or utilitarian pursuit? Quality education like Mr. Hector's or Mr. Tom's exam-oriented education? Just like the current situation of education in China, how should education reform be changed? I heard that the education reform in a certain place and the implementation of quality education led to the fact that the number of students in the Qingbei college entrance examination in that year was much less than in previous years, which triggered large-scale protests by parents, so whose fault is this? If the baton of the college entrance examination is still in command of education, then the so-called quality education is destined to be a mere formality, because in the end thousands of troops will be able to make the college entrance examination. If the implementation of quality education is no longer just about taking exams, how can we ensure the huge gap between the central and western regions and the developed regions?

As a student, under the influence of teachers, parents, and even the torrent of public opinion, I can't tolerate my true will at all. Even if I don't like it, I can only follow the mainstream to get into a famous school. How many people can pursue what they love after getting the admission letter and meeting the expectations of teachers and parents?

There are only three points in the film that are related to the same sex. One is the outrageous behavior of Mr. Hector, one is the plot of the student seducing the teacher, and the other is the enlightenment of the young boy's mind, which is the most beautiful part. As a seventeen or eighteen-year-old boy, he fell in love with a male classmate, but the other party didn't like him, and he often showed his affection in front of him. He was melancholy and tangled, and it was difficult for him to express his thoughts to the teacher, so he could only rely on singing. When I finally graduated, I finally got a full hug. Well, a period of youthful years passed like this. Looking back many years later, will the corners of your mouth rise?

I can't help but think of when I was seventeen or eighteen, when I was in my third year of high school. Occasional spring dreams are all of the same sex, and only then did I dimly realize that I might be different from others. However, no one told him what was going on, no one told him what to do, and no one knew who to talk to. So in the pages of the diary, I left countless times of self-doubt and depression. So, when the boyhood has passed in a hurry, and then go to the memory, there is only a trace of depression, no sweetness at all.

As a not straight education practitioner, looking at Teacher Hector, it's easy to put yourself in his role.

Do I also have a big belly and a cold titular family decades later? If I still hold a teaching position, will I still insist on my educational philosophy as always, and have the opportunity to actually implement it? Will it also break through the bottom line of morality and do some inappropriate things to cute boys? Will you be ridiculed or discriminated against because of your orientation? Will there be a sudden accident one day, and the unhappy life will come to an abrupt end, without even having time to say a last word? Are there students and friends behind me who are proud of my life? Decades later, will any students also embark on a path of teaching because of my influence?

After watching the film, a lot of thoughts popped out, and it was difficult to dissipate for a long time. In my opinion, the history boys is definitely a good film, mislabeled and underrated. The students in each of our schools, like the male students in the film, have joys, sorrows, joys, exam pressures, and their own youthful and depressing loves, which may be of the same sex or the opposite sex. However, they may not have a teacher like Mr Hector to accompany them on the journey.
