Felicity Felicity, Fantastic Dream Chaser

When I was young, my least favorite thing was war movies, and I preferred animation, and this preference has remained until now. Because there is no in-depth research on the film, I only participate as the most "superficial" type of audience. Among them, I don't like Japanese-style animations very much, and I naturally stay away from many domestic animations that imitate Japan. My favorite is the Disney style of painting, and I also miss the real domestic animations with Chinese characteristics when I was a child, such as the ink painting style "Little Tadpoles Looking for Mother", "Magic Pen Ma Liang", "Seven-colored Deer" and so on. animation.

Halfway through the summer vacation, my friends are either on the way to work or on the way to school. When I was bored, I mostly just watched dramas, so I started to write again.

1.
"The Great Felicity", an animated adventure film jointly produced by French Gaumont and Canadian animation studios, co-directed by Eric Summer, Eric Waring, Elle Fanning, Dane DeHaan, Carly Rae Gibson, Maddie Ziegler lead the voices. The film was released in France on December 14, 2016 and in mainland China on February 1, 2017. (Baidu Encyclopedia of the film)

The main line of the story is relatively simple (lǎo) and simple (tào): Felicity and Victor are childhood sweethearts in the orphanage, and they both have a heart that is unwilling to be bound, so they escaped from the orphanage to Paris together. , After many setbacks, with the help of good people, he finally realized his dream.

Applying the current hot words, this movie belongs to the perspective of the "big heroine". The film focuses on depicting the enthusiasm and determination of the girl Felicity to pursue her dream. Practice after practice, and blow after blow, naturally let the audience participate in it. It's infection and thinking about dreams, just like watching Felicity's hard training, I couldn't help but think of myself in the study room day after day during the review cycle for the entrance examination last year, that is the resonance of dreaming.

On the other hand, the story is also interspersed with a secondary line in which Victor tried and succeeded in inventing a "crewed" aircraft.

There is a token in the story - the ballerina's music box. This is the only thought that Felicity's mother left her. I always thought it was the clue to her reunion with her mother, but the music box was damaged twice in the story. They were on the way to escape and were broken by Camille when they were thrown downstairs, but they were both repaired by Victor. Later in the story, Victor and Felicity were reunited through this music box, so maybe the music box has also become a token between the two men in patch after patch.

The sweetest thing is that every time Felicity danced on the stage, dazzling, Victor said with intoxication: "That's my girlfriend", and became a "fan brother" in seconds.

Second,
there are many wonderful little characters in the story.

I'm afraid I like the friend Mathilan that Victor met in Paris. He has a round face with round glasses, sticks to his speech, and often has snacks on his meat claws. It's cute!

Odette, a theater cleaner with leg problems, took in Felicity, and was moved by Felicity to train her and encourage her. I always thought that Odette was Felicity's mother. First, they looked alike (although I was in the late stage of prosopagnosia), and Odette was also a famous ballerina, so Felicity inherited it since she was a child. Their talents, the three of them cherish each other, and the mother-daughter feeling is particularly strong. It's a pity that this line was not pointed out at the end of the film, so the mother-daughter relationship is just my brain hole.

Maillart was the theater's choreographer, and because of Felicity's unprofessionalism, she was particularly harsh at the beginning, which also reflected her uprightness. He continues to help Felicity as he learns more about Felicity's abilities and passions.

What I'm more curious about is the story of Maillart and Odette that doesn't appear in the film. I really gossip.

Camille is the daughter of a wealthy family. In the early stage, because of her arrogance and rudeness, this role was not pleasing. The most touching thing was that she and Felicity ended the dance. Felicity's big dance conquered her, and she extended her hand to congratulate Felicity. Get a chance to star in The Nutcracker. At that moment, she exuded a kind of demeanor and courage, which was really beautiful.

There is also Mr. Lu Tuo from the orphanage who has a similar "personal trajectory" to Camille. In the early stage, he almost caught Felicity and Victor who escaped, which was not pleasing, but when he found out that he had returned to the orphanage again. Felicity lost her vitality, and he actually helped Felicity return to the Paris theatre. At that moment, he was the kind father figure of the orphanage, very warm.

3.
The story has a "bug". Felicity was able to go to the theatre to learn dancing by stealing Camille's acceptance letter and impersonating. Although the "hoax" in the story was exposed, Felicity apologized sincerely, and her grievance with Camille's mother also drove the development of the plot. But for the sake of dreaming against social moral norms, should such behavior be advocated or forgiven, just like whether the mistress who advocates "true love first" in the society should be forgiven or even affirmed by the world? At least I have a negative attitude.

Of course, everything is for the service of dramatic conflict, and there is no need to be on the line. Animation is animation, reality is reality, it just needs the audience to distinguish it.

4.
There are many episodes in the movie that are beautiful and beautiful. With the ups and downs of the plot, the notes jump, adding icing on the cake to the story.

Why do I still like animation when I am in my early twenties? not grown up? childish?
Perhaps it is the atmosphere of studying in the ivory tower that nourishes the child's heart to some extent, and makes me still believe in the truth, the good and the beautiful, and still insist on the truth, the good and the beautiful;
perhaps the continuous outbreak of false and ugly in the society makes the truth, the good and the beauty of the story even more precious. So I cherish the beautiful world shown in the movie;
or maybe the characters created by the story are typical, the so-called "most familiar stranger", we can always find a certain characteristic of ourselves in him, so we substitute , I like it;
or maybe...
no one stipulates that adults should not watch cartoons anymore, just like no one said that adults can't be moved by dreams.
On the way of chasing dreams, there is no age difference, only stopping and moving forward.

  • Regine: [to Odette, as she and Felicie are cleaning the stairs] Get up.

    Odette: [meekly] Yes, ma'am.

[gets up, but keeps her head down]

Regine: [referring to Felicie] Who is this?

    Odette: No one. She helps.

Regine: YOU feed her. Out of YOUR wages.

    Odette: Yes, ma'am.

Regine: I want you to air and press the linen.

    [whispers]

    Regine: NOW.

[Odette leaves. Regine looks down at Felicie coldly. A visibly frightened Felicie resumes cleaning the stairs]

    Regine: It's not clean.

[purposely pushes the bucket of scrubbing water with her foot; the water spills down the steps, much to Felicie's shock]

Regine: Oops! Oh, look what you did.

    [smiles wickedly and leaves]

  • Felicie: [on her first day of dance class, shyly greeting the other girls] Hi. Hello.

[to herself; when none of the girls respond]

    Felicie: Okay. Super.

    [louder]

    Felicie: I'm Felicie.

    Nora: [confused] Felicie?

Felicie: [realizes her mistake] Uh, no, no, no, no, no. Sorry. I'm... friendly, ever so friendly. And my name is Camille.

Nora: Okay. I'm Nora, but everyone calls me... Nora. That's... the name that goes with MY face.

    [laughs]

Nora: Hey, you should warm up.

Felicie: [to herself, confused] Warm up?

[shrugs and tries to literally 'warm up' by rubbing her hands on her arms]

Dora: [amused] Oh my. That is crazy. I'm guessing you're new, my darling?

Felicie: [awkwardly] You can tell that because...?

[Before Dora can answer, Mérante enters the room. The girls quickly gather to one side of the room]

    Felicie: Who is that?

Dora: [rolls her eyes] You are joking, right? It's Louis Mérante, ballet master, world-famous choreographer, the man who performed the most fouettes ever in a single solo.

    Felicie: Foo-what?

    Dora: Turns. Really difficult turns.

Nora: 187 in total. And right after, he vomited!

Mérante: Silence, mademoiselle! First position, second...

[All of the girls except Felicie go through the basic ballet positions]

    Felicie: [lost] What?

Mérante: Third, fourth, and rest in fifth.
