Italian middle-class family, the brothers are handsome, smart, sensitive and kind. The older brother is maverick, soft and warm in his heart, loves literature, and expresses in a direct and strong way. He is a top student in college, and because he does not agree with the general values of society, he chooses to stay away from the real world and even his family. When he was middle-aged, he lived alone in a dilapidated rental house, and even hired prostitutes. When he met the girl he loved, he chose to escape because of his low social status, and ended his life on New Year's Eve. The younger brother lives a different life. He is also a top student, with the same softness and sensitivity in his heart. He chooses to accept and integrate into the real society, and uses his own strength to promote social reform. The imperfection, even the wife who abandoned her family and joined a terrorist organization, lived with her brother's lover in middle age, supporting each other. The emotional performance of the characters in the film is very delicate, including the change of parents' feelings, and the wife's return to life from a literary youth to a terrorist. The movie is real.
