"I know what we're getting , but I'm afraid we don't know what to lose."
The most impressive thing in the movie is what Roden said to Becky when he went to the battlefield. Ki went to sell it, and then it was worth the money, I thought he was just a dude, and after this, I was willing to believe that they really loved each other, and I was sad that they didn't end up together.
Becky may be very utilitarian in the movie, but she gave up the choice to stay with her friends when she was able to go to London. She loves vanity, but I saw her wearing black and singing with her shoulders raised among the misfits. She suffered so much ridicule and scorn, but she endured it through gritted teeth. I can't judge her values, but she is undoubtedly a strong and optimistic woman. There's nothing wrong with her being ambitious, nothing wrong with her wanting to be in high society, I'm just sad that she lost herself and Roden in the end, I'd like to believe she knew her fault, otherwise she wouldn't Will try to persuade my best friend to accept another love like that at the end... I always think Becky is a good woman, a good woman with great ambition, like in the movie "If I have 5000 pounds , I'll be a good woman too."
