A clean and quiet little white film

Is this movie bad? After reading so many comments, there are very few that don't criticize. Personally, it feels right.
The female lead is not beautiful, but the director's handling gives people a warm and even aesthetic feeling. The doomsday scenes of religious temples and nuclear bomb explosions that appear many times, if not metaphorical, are pictures that can be seen and remembered. It is not so much the apocalypse doomsday scene in the West, but it is another opening of the world in Eastern mythology.
The theme is a bit silly, it is nothing more than the fact that human nature is greater than rationality, and it caters to the contemporary trend of thinking in the West. There is nothing worthy of deep analysis, it is the extravagant reflection of human beings after material satisfaction, that's all. The last teacher-student love is a bit ridiculous. This is a movie that does not need logic. The final explanation may be a bit superfluous, but it can also be seen as a helpless condemnation. After all, behind the movie, we are still living for our jobs. Fight for the engineer's seat instead of poetry and opera.
ps, I really think that only the heroine and the woman with a quarter of Hong Kong blood are beautiful, and the hero is suspected of being a little white face. Hehe, the last teacher's words are nothing more than the director's ridicule to most of us in the society.

First time encountering this subject. Although many places can't tell. But overall not bad.

After the Dark quotes

  • [In the third iteration, Petra waives her own eligibility, and now announces who receives the last remaining bunker slot]

    Petra: Bonnie, get inside.

Bonnie: I'm a soldier, I know how to knock things down. You're an engineer, you know how to build things up. I'm not worth as much.

Petra: My logic's fuzzier. In my apocalypse, everybody is worth as much as everybody else.

Bonnie: I'm not letting you sacrifice yourself to save me.

Petra: I won't let *you* sacrifice yourself to save me.

Bonnie: Then we'll both go up in smoke, and you'll have wasted a slot for someone to live.

[Petra then asks Chips instead of Bonnie for the last bunker slot]
