love duo

Each of us has liked, loved, secretly in love, never been in love, loved each other, and broke up.

Is it one day, when that moment becomes so short that we can't predict it by ourselves, and the one who is still in our minds, all the impossible becomes possible in an instant, pick up the phone, dial that number, and compress all the void.

He is still there, love or not, whether he really understands the reason why he failed to appear at that moment, whether he is willing to forgive the excuses he gave, or whether he believes the facts he said.

These are not important, at that moment, I want to see him.

Age, gender, country, family, morality, love and dislike sound so real and so loud at the moment when time pushes you forward.

Go see him, be by his side, watch him.

like yesterday...

But a movie is always a movie. In real life, the echo of love that flows over time has long since disappeared in daily life. I only occasionally think of the happiness at that moment, smile at the corner of my mouth, and even forget his appearance and voice, leaving behind only a mottled sense of familiarity.

I just feel that that day was a happy day in my life.

Elegy quotes

  • George O'Hearn: Beautiful women are invisible.

David Kepesh: Invisible? What the hell does that mean? Invisible? They jump out at you. A beautiful woman, she stands out. She stands apart. You can't miss her.

George O'Hearn: But we never actually see the person. We see the beautiful shell. We're blocked by the beauty barrier. Yeah, we're so dazzled by the outside that we never make it inside.

  • David Kepesh: I think it was Betty Davis who said old age is not for sissies. But it was Tolstoy who said the biggest surprise in a man's life is old age. Old age sneaks up on you, and the next thing you know you're asking yourself, I'm asking myself, why can't an old man act his real age? How is it possible for me to still be involved in the carnal aspects of the human comedy? Because, in my head, nothing has changed.
