Aamir Khan's new movie "Mystery Superstar" recently came out.
After watching it, you will find the shadow of "Wrestling, Dad" in this film.
This is Aamir Khan's consistent style, an approachable story, inspirational and warm, with sweet tears and a happy ending.
But if you want to say that this is another "Falling Dad", this is a bit disagreeable. In my opinion, this "Mysterious Superstar" is much better than "Falling Dad".
A lot of the problems with Falling Dad stem from some of the controversies that come with its story, and that's where I personally feel bad about it.
Back in "Mystery Superstar", such controversy is almost non-existent.
But that's not why I like "Mystery Superstar", the most laudable thing about this movie is its narrative.
The beginning of the film is a solo show of a fifteen-year-old girl with musical talent, Isiah.
It was followed by her fantasizing about being the one who took the stage to accept the award while watching the music awards
Seeing these, it almost makes people think that this is an inspirational movie.
However, such a film is too cliché, and Aamir Khan's film is not so ordinary.
So the film has some signs of speaking out for feminism, especially the addition of domestic violence elements, and the social value of the film begins to show.
It was not until the end, a subtitle "Dedicated to all mothers" that the audience understood that this film sang about maternal love.
Just saying that, the theme of the movie sounds a little confusing.
But these elements, under the delicate narrative of the film, are extraordinarily smooth.
for example
Isiah learns that there is a singing competition and expresses her desire to participate, citing the possibility of getting a laptop.
The mother said that she could not be the master of this matter, and her father had the final say.
And just as Isiah was about to make this request to her father, the father ate a mouthful of his mother's unsalted dinner, and became furious.
So Isiah's wish came to nothing.
In connection with the injury of the mother's left eye, the unequal family status and the father's attitude towards the mother, the film naturally brings in the feminist perspective.
The mother felt guilty because she thought she had done something wrong and screwed up Isiah's wishes, so she sold her necklace and bought Isiah a computer directly.
With a computer, Isiah found that if she wanted to realize her music dream, she could use YouTube to upload her own music videos for the world to watch.
With her excellent singing voice, Isiah conquered netizens across the country and swept the world. Later, she was also confessed by her classmates.
This is the rhythm of the storytelling of the film, the layers are interlocked, and it is as smooth as last year's "Genius Gunner".
Of course, the film did not follow this rhythm all the way to Jiangxia District, but suddenly turned around.
Isiah, who was too famous, even appeared in the newspaper, worried that she would be exposed in front of her father, and Isiah, who was still taking exams in the cram school, quickly handed in the test papers and ran home.
The teacher of the cram school scolded me for submitting the papers early. Regarding the unfriendly relationship with the teacher, the film also made a foreshadowing before the film. The teacher of the cram school always said "If your mother asked me to take you in..." Maybe it was a bit inflated because of being famous, Ishia Retort directly.
This counter-argument angered the teacher and asked to take this test paper for his father to sign.
Ishia's grades were not good, and she was too anxious to finish the questions, and her grades on this paper were also a mess.
When his father saw this, he cut Isiah's guitar strings to shreds.
With the guitar gone, Isiah's dreams began to plummet.
Because my father is going to take my mother to a friend's wedding, I hope my mother will not embarrass herself by wearing the necklace. Then, the matter of selling necklaces for computers was known to my father again.
The mother was beaten, and the computer was smashed.
As for the budding love, she was also rejected thousands of miles away because she was in a bad mood.
The harm of this contrast to a person is undoubtedly huge. Many times, what makes people desperate is not not being able to have it, but having it once. This feeling of being deprived step by step after clearly having it is enough to make a person feel disheartened.
But the last straw that broke Isiah was that her father made the decision without her consent and betrothed her to someone she didn't even know.
So she had to pick up her own musical weapon to change her own destiny, and at the same time, her mother's.
If we say that Isiah represents the emerging, awakening, and fighting women, advocating equal rights and advocating to dream. She said, "If a person has no dreams, what difference does it make if he is asleep or awake".
Then her mother represented the old, compromised, dead women, a large part of this type of women in India.
After Isiah hired the best divorce lawyer in India, her mother was unshakable and scolded Isiah.
She said "it's not going to change", she said "all men are like this", she said "it's all doomed"...
To a large extent, the dilemma of Indian women stems from the fact that they have given up resistance and become numb. Not wanting to resist and being unable to resist are two completely different things.
After that, the story of praising mother's love officially begins.
After the quarrel, Isiah, who was angry, learned the story of her birth from her aunt, and only then did she understand how fearless and loving her mother was to her.
Including later at the airport, in order to protect Isiah's dream, the mother finally gave everything and said no to her father.
At this time, you recalled the various stories told in the first two hours of the film. It turns out that, subtly, the image of a plump mother has already taken root in our hearts. So when Ishia stood on the stage of her dream and expressed her love for her mother with simple and powerful words, your tears could not be stopped at all.
However, a small rant, the final design of the film is really too embarrassing, and it is just the level of Aurora Love...
Oh yes, forget Uncle Mi.
Uncle Mi plays the noble Kumar of Isiah in the film, which is more like a concoction in the whole story. Doubi is omnipotent, especially at the end of the feature film, the audience's mood has not yet calmed down, and the tears are half shed, and Uncle Mi appears again in the form of a funny easter egg.
In the film, Kumar is like a life mentor, giving the protagonist encouragement, support and strength. He Isiah said, "A talented child like you is like a bubble in a soda, and will rely on his own strength to slowly move forward. Rise, nothing can stop you."
But outside the film, Uncle Mi has done more.
Three idiots made a scene in Bollywood to discuss his views on education. I criticized religious issues. The stars on the earth let people understand the world of children. In each of his films, he uses his ability to convey some positive thoughts.
In "Falling Dad" and "Mysterious Superstar", Uncle Mi also has another identity, that is, the producer. Therefore, he is not only as an actor, but as a filmmaker, to influence and change the country, such greatness can be imagined.
The last thing I want to say is that in fact, these films are also commercial films, but they have higher intentions, are more interesting, and look better. Why can't they be made in China? I ask the Chinese film people to think about the future.
