Fifteen years ago, when I was twenty-two years old, I was a movie enthusiast, living a carefree life in an ivory tower "forcing new words to say sorrow". At that time, the Japanese film "Twilight Qingbingwei" was born and won numerous awards. Unfortunately, the theme of samurai is one of my least favorite genres, so I missed it. Fifteen years later, at the age of thirty-seven, I no longer have the urge to "want to go up the stairs", nor have I cultivated to the level of "remaining at rest". On the double 11 night of "it's cool and autumn", I burst into tears. Saw this film in disgust. The subtitles of the day slowly rose, and my heart was full of mixed feelings. The story takes place in the Kaisaka clan at the end of the shogunate. Iguchi Kiyobei is the lowest samurai with a salary of only 50 shi. His wife died of tuberculosis, his mother has Alzheimer's disease, and his two young daughters need to be taken care of. His wife is the oldest. Years of medical expenses, not only made the family poor, but also owed a lot of foreign debts. In order to organize his wife's funeral, he had no choice but to sell the samurai sword that symbolized dignity. In order to take care of his family, he hurried home after get off work every evening, never socializing with his colleagues and drinking flower wine, so he got the nickname "Twilight Qingbingwei". Qingbingwei lived a very hard life. In addition to going to work, he also cooked, chopped firewood, farmed, fished, dug wild vegetables, and weaved bamboo cages... For a few pennies, he bargained with buying merchants, and his ragged clothes were ridiculed by his colleagues. , So frugal that after every meal, I don't forget to wash the bowl with water and drink all the porridge without a drop. Even though life was so hard, he still managed to keep his family safe, sent his daughters to private schools to study, and took care of the family in an orderly manner. Although he does not have a prominent family background, he does not have a strong utilitarian heart, but he is not passive and world-weary; although his teacher is famous and his martial arts skills are high, he never bullies the weak. Material life is extremely scarce, but at the spiritual level, he is happy and rich. He has two sensible daughters. Every night, under the dim oil lamp, he works while teaching the daughters the Analects of Confucius. He tells them that the power of knowledge can make people survive in any era. It was an era of strict hierarchy. Miss Pengjiang's ex-husband's family is a family with a salary of 1,200 shi, and Miss Pengjiang's natal family is a middle-class samurai family with a salary of 400 shi, and the marriage is right. If Miss Pengjiang hadn't been forced to divorce by domestic violence because of her unkindness, Qingbingwei would not have met love. So he rejected Miss Pengjiang's brother's proposal, and he had reason to feel inferior. His deceased wife came from a family with a salary of 150 shi, and the huge gap in living conditions before and after marriage was also one of the important factors for her illness. At the end of the film, he was ordered to kill the rebel, Uemon, a senior samurai with an even more miserable life. Three years later, he died as a member of the rebel army, along with thousands of warriors. In the continuous fire of the Battle of Bochen. In the eyes of the winning party, the reformists, he is also an anti-thief. Seeing the smoke rising from the cooking, the picture freezes. This is a samurai image that is different from my previous fixed impression. He is short-hearted as a hero, long in love with his children, sympathetic to the heavens and others, destitute and mediocre. Of course, he still retains the qualities of a warrior—loyalty, wisdom, courage, benevolence and forbearance. To the boss, he is humble; to his colleagues, he is weird; to the mother, he is filial; to the daughters, he is competent; to Miss Pengjiang, he is gentle Yes, reliable. Unfortunately, what's the use? In a turbulent time when the political situation is turbulent and the people are struggling, the happiness and grief of a middle-aged man seem so insignificant and frail compared to the surging historical torrent. "Twilight Qingbingwei" is very suitable for middle-aged men to watch. Whether you are in high spirits or depression, whether you are in good times or adversities, you can see some mirror images of yourself or others, and get some warnings and reflections. Life can't be smooth sailing, and life is unsatisfactory nine times out of ten. I am very fortunate that I missed this film, because fifteen years ago, I was just a stunned young man and could not experience such a heavy and long-lasting emotion.
