This old 1979 film is based on Gunter Glass' novel of the same name. To say that director Walker Chicken Thief saw this book, it is not wrong to be Glass's Bole, but I think if he knew in advance that Glass would win the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1999, the film should not be in the 80s. It was released in 2018. After all, this work was called "one of the most important works of world literature after World War II" when the Nobel Prize was awarded.

Glass's writing style is inherently sarcastic, known for his dark humor, and he will never be calm and forceful. The way the film was shot amplifies this effect, making Germany's darkest history nowhere to be seen.

The color grading of the last century has a historical sense of heaviness and the effect of calming the soul and soothing the nerves. Thinking that this guy is already thirty-nine, he will go to the fourth place immediately, so we still need to give some respect to the elders.

The rhythm of the movie is very slow, but sometimes the camera is a bit baffling. The main character Oscar's child voice is used for all the narrations that advance the plot. Some obscene words in this tone will make people who don't focus on the movie (yes, it's me) can't help but worry: this child's psychological development after acting in this movie is soothing.

On the seven-hour train ride from Jingzhou to Chengdu, I opened the download folder while feeling dizzy, and double-clicked "The Tin Drum".

When the progress reached twenty minutes, I quietly pulled down the display (because it was like this ↓).

When the progress reached 40 minutes, I shrunk the frame (because it is like this↓).

When the progress reached 60 minutes, I clicked the red cross.

how? so ugly?

No, my wife is so exciting. Watching this thing in public irritates my heart. In the spirit of humanitarian concern, I created a safe zone for the eyes of the people around me to land when I glanced at it.

In fact, this movie is not so large-scale, at least in terms of love, it is not entirely because of sensuality.

I haven't read the original book, so I don't know how much the movie has changed or deleted. One thing I can confirm is that the prominent parts of the narrative are all deformed, absurd, and black.

For example, when little Oscar fell into the basement, there was a continuous scream without emotion and his eyes widened without fear.

Another example, Oscar's mother's neurotic change in eating eel, from the beginning of refusing to eat, fear of conflict, and later, no fish, no fear of death, and finally died here.

There are so many absurd plots and plots that make people unbelievable. If it is a sin for cousins and brothers to steal planes and incest, and to give privately to each other is a crime, is the birth of Oscar guilty? The filth of adults was seen by a teenager in advance. Is it more misdeeds by adults or the innocence of teenagers? The evil side of young people's human nature, Hitler's black rule, the persecution and oppression of innocents by war... The film is narrated in an extremely paradoxical way. It clearly feels that the results of all incidents are worthy of questioning and discomfort, but in a twisted Under the premise of the protagonists, everything seems to be in order.

I don't know if it's to highlight the absurd effect deliberately, but the eyes of the protagonist Oscar are easy to make people feel uncomfortable, and there is always a sense of sinister indifference.

It's a strangely paced film with The Grand Budapest Hotel's sense of the times, but closer to a horror film in dramatic skin.

They will occupy the fairgrounds, they will stage torchlight parades, build rostrums, fill the rostrums, and from those rostrums preach our destruction.
