A product of the times, absurd fears

After watching this movie, there is no excitement, there is no excitement of growing up in the final Oscar, the rest, only pieces of fear of breaking

There are no heroes and no light in the movie; no heinous crimes, no murderous perverts, but it is more oppressive and darker than Gotham. On the one hand because it is really scary, on the other hand, it is absurdly scary.

Different times produce different seeds, and Oscar and everyone else are products of this sinful age, and they influence each other, abandoning propriety, righteousness and honor, and creating sin again.

1. Drums

Oscar's drum, in my opinion, represents its rebellion. From the beginning, the author used absurd lenses to show the scenes in the womb and the impossible open-eyed Oscar, and then he had the meaning of life because of the drums when he was three years old. He doesn't seem to care about the world, he treats the world as a playground, and the only thing serious is his drum. And the plot after that proves it all. His rebellion was not a rebellion against the Nazis, not a rebellion against incest, nor a rebellion against betrayal, these were the younger brothers, the older brother he rebelled against, this era - the era let him down, so he stopped being serious, and started Rebellious.

And these are neither righteous nor evil, because he is targeting the times, so I think absurd is more appropriate. It's like when you see him beating the drums to disrupt the Nazis, and then you see him deliberately letting his father ejaculate inside Maria. There are too many such examples, and it is impossible to tell whether Oscar should hate or be pitiful, but at the same time, we also know that the sinners of the times must be the victims of the times. So I want to use the word absurd, he is thorough but not absolute.

2. Horse head - fish

The scene Agnes saw on the shore had a strong metaphor. If I remember correctly, Agnes should have experienced the German invasion, so when she saw countless fish burrowing into the horse's head like worms, corroding, as if she was watching worms and maggots on her relatives, And she had to eat these maggots for dinner. Such things destroyed her will, and she went mad and died from the fish.

And eating maggots is a portrayal of that era, just like the neighbor's report is eating maggots, the persecution of the nation is eating maggots, but some people have a better digestive system, and they will not have diarrhea after eating, while others have changed. Just anorexia.

3. Child pornography

When the film was first released, an Ohio court confiscated all resources on child pornography charges and listed it as a banned film. Although it was not unconstitutional after investigation, the film is indeed full of child pornography, which is undeniable.

But isn't the era that the movie wants to express so real? A sinful age is bound to raise sinful children, and sinful children are bound to be the victims of sinful times. If Oscar does not understand pornography, it will no longer be true, because often the products of a sinful era are only war, drugs, and pornography.

But if there will be children like Oscar in an era, when pornography is rampant and children begin to become its slaves, then this era will be the era that humans are closest to the beasts.

Another type of child pornography refers to people like pedophiles. There is a lot of news of this kind, and there are a lot of crimes of this type. I still remember the previous Bao Meng beast. This is a problem in today's society, but there is still no good solution. I am angry but helpless.

What is absurd, is true. The story itself is not true, but every detail reveals the truth. And when all the realities come together, this absurdity emerges, and when you think about it, fear is not without reason.

The Tin Drum quotes

  • Bebra: You must join us, you must!

Oskar Matzerath: You know, Mr. Bebra... to tell the truth, I prefer to be a member of the audience, and let my little art flower in secret.

Bebra: My dear Oskar, trust an experienced colleague. Our kind must never sit in the audience. Our kind must perform and run the show, or the others will run *us*. The others are coming. They will occupy the fairgrounds, they will stage torchlight parades, build rostrums, fill the rostrums, and from those rostrums preach our destruction.

  • Oskar Matzerath: There once was a drummer. His name was Oskar. He lost his poor mama, who had eat to much fish. There was once a credulous people... who believed in Santa Claus. But Santa Claus was really... the gas man! There was once a toy merchant. His name was Sigismund Markus... and he sold tin drums lacquered red and white. There was once a drummer. His name was Oskar. There was once a toy merchant... whose name was Markus... and he took all the toys in the world away with him.
