Ignoring the story background of this film for the time being, presumably many immortals have already sneered at this kind of Qiongyao-style beginning. When I closed the book "What is a Father", what I saw was the father's controlling feelings from the son's perspective. It is Hirokazu Koreeda's way of creating a father-controlled and arrogant male protagonist who is perfect, whether he walks non-stop, whether he goes back to my house, whether he is like a father like a son, they are all good examples.
I have always felt that the stubbornness of the father's generation cannot erase the admiration of the children's hearts. As a son, he will unconsciously value, respect, and imitate his father's character, temper, actions, behavior, and educational policy, just as depicted in the film. That way, smile with your head sideways when taking pictures, Oh My GOD together when sighing, and so on.
The omnipotence and justifiability of a father in his son's mind is difficult to translocate and even more difficult to eradicate. The same situation has also happened to many of him. He has inadvertently inherited his father's values and ideology, and subconsciously feels that he should obey his father's advice, so he will ponder on his father's sentence "blood is more important". Before Qing Duo left home, he asked his father if he wanted to continue playing the piano, which is also a manifestation of the importance he paid to his father's expectations for himself.
This kind of admiration that has nothing to do with genes and blood is often accumulated by companionship. And under this kind of "blind" worship, only "painful" can know what is right and what is wrong, so many will choke and cry. Xiongda obviously sees it through, so he says "but you don't need to imitate him."
As a son, I also have a deep understanding, because I often teach others in the same tone as my father taught me. In turn, I understand that some are desirable, and some are instinctively imitating my father's stubbornness.
I admire that it is Hirokazu Koreeda who takes the mother-son and mother-daughter plot as the dark line of this film. Compared with the ethereal and intractable father's love rooted in the heart, the mother's love in the film is as generous and beautiful as ever. There are many biological mothers, including the understanding, tolerance and care that the fathers have not reached. The only mother and daughter scene is the scene where the Nononomiya family goes to her parents' house, and the scene where Ono Machiko and Shu Xilin sit in front of the altar, lamenting the old drama bone tree Xilin Still outstanding acting.
Like father and son, to put it bluntly, the father and son were carved out of the same mold. This is fate and happiness. What this film tells me is that, as a child's instinct, although it is influenced by blood, it cannot resist the flow of companionship.
