1995 – Alloy Orchestra, a new composition team, based on the notes left by Vittordo. It incorporates sound effects such as sirens, crying babies, crowd noise, etc. Available in several different DVD versions.

1996 – Norwegian composer Geir Jenssen (also known as Biosphere) was commissioned by the Tromsø International Film Festival to compose a new soundtrack for the film, with the director's screenplay along with directing the piano accompanist. Jenssen wrote half of the soundtrack and passed the other half to Martinsen (aka Mental Overdrive). It was made available as a Norwegian version of "Mannen med filmkameraet" at the 1996 TIFF [2][3]. After the festival, the soundtrack was no longer used, and was released on CD in 2001.

1999 – In the Nursery version[1] was made for the Bradford International Film Festival. Several DVD versions are currently available, often paired with Alloy Orchestra as the soundtrack of choice.

2002 – A version of the film score composed by Jason Swinscoe, performed by The Cinematic Orchestra of British jazz and electronic music (see Man with a Camera (album)). Originally produced for the Porto 2000 Film Festival and released on a limited DVD by the British music and arts label Ninja Tune, this DVD version is currently very popular and more expensive than other DVD versions.

2002 - DVD of the film released by the British Film Institute, with music by Michael Nyman. This soundtrack is available on many different DVD releases.
