Must-see disaster movies

In the face of natural disasters, people are really small. In 2008, when I was still serving in the forest armed police squadron, I caught up with a fire that had not happened in a few years. The troops in Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces in the northeast were mobilized. How much area was burned? I forgot. I just remembered that including the armed police, the army and the local forestry firefighting team, there were more than 8,000 people fighting for twelve days. The unreal experience really didn’t know how terrible it was. After our squadron was thrown into a ravine by a helicopter. I couldn’t keep up with the supply. Everyone ate four steamed buns for three days. Without water, they could only drink the juice of the tree. At that time, I thought I couldn’t get out. The fire spread in the pine forest on the other side of Daxinganling. The speed is definitely faster than in the movie. A pine tree with a height of forty to fifty meters can be ignited by fire in a few seconds. We urge everyone to pay attention to fire prevention when going out in the wild. Here are two photos of real forest fires. have a look

The first half was a bit long-winded, and the editing was confusing. At the climax, a fire finally produced the atmosphere of a disaster movie. The ending is quite impactful. It is better to watch the movie without understanding the prototype of the event.

The last twenty minutes were too inciting. Every year, Hollywood shoots so many main themes for us as templates, but when we roll up our sleeves and shoot, we are not accidentally beaten back to the original.

Only the Brave quotes

  • Duane Steinbrink: I know you boys are looking for sympathy. You'll find that in the dictionary somewhere between shit and syphilis.

  • Eric Marsh: Fire's making a run for our line, and by the time she gets here she's going to be too strong to hold. Gonna crown that ridge, spot over and run straight into town. If we back burn this side of the mountain, by the time that bitch comes over it won't have no fuel to feed into.

Evaluator Hayes: That's a godawful idea. All the conditions favor the fire, and when that blaze comes down that mountain it's gonna kick your ass and use your burn to get even stronger, we won't be able to stop it.

Eric Marsh: Well our line's not gonna hold unless we burn it off.

Evaluator Hayes: Well then slow it down until we get more resources up here.

Eric Marsh: What you don't understand sir...

Evaluator Hayes: What you don't understand is forty years, son. I was on the job when you were still shitin' yellow, so if you think you're gonna to make a big move and impress me, i'm tellin' you right now, don't!

Eric Marsh: Due respect sir, you are just an observer, so let us do our job...

    Evaluator Hayes: No, you...

Eric Marsh: No no no! Step off, now! Step... off!
