We are Family

Genius can change the material, and mediocrity can ruin the good material. Pirates of Silicon Valley, shot in 1999, is more philosophical and insightful than Jobs' talk of Steve in 2013. This is not the strength gap between the director and the screenwriter, what else could it be?

Steve scolds Gates for betraying the family, but forgets that he is also a prodigal son who abandoned his daughter;
Steve blames Gates for not stealing his programming language, but ignores that he also steals his mountain pirate.
The short confrontation at the end actually runs through the reconstruction foundation of the entire movie.

Who are the pirates in the titled Xigu?
Is it Steve who plundered IBM,
or Gates who plundered Steve?
I am afraid that only future historians can decide.

    In fact, I want to say that this kind of documentary is quite funny, especially the two leading actors, where did you find them? Really like!

    The worst documentary I've seen, neither plot nor objective, the love and hatred between the two friends on the way to start a business... If you want to commemorate your understanding of Grandpa Qiao, let's take a detour and watch it.

Pirates of Silicon Valley quotes

  • Ballmer: Bill, I don't know if it's the clothes on the floor or you, but something in here definitely needs to be hosed down.

  • Steve Jobs: What is this? This is like doing business with a praying mantis. You get seduced, and then eaten alive afterwards?

    Bill Gates: Get real, would ya? You and I are both like guys who had this rich neighbor - Xerox - who left the door open all the time. And you go sneakin' in to steal a TV set. Only when you get there, you realize that I got there first. I got the loot, Steve! And you're yellin'? "That's not fair. I wanted to try to steal it first." You're too late.
