Amy, 13, lives with her mother, who was killed in a traffic accident. Amy came to live on the farm with her father whom she hadn't seen for a long time. My father loved flying and inventing, and the house was full of bizarre inventions. All of this made Amy feel very uncomfortable. In a bush that was pushed down by the developer, Aimi accidentally found a nest of wild goose eggs. Aimi took these wild goose eggs home and made a simple incubator with her own clothes and light bulbs, waiting for the goose to hatch day by day. One day, when Amy opened the incubator again, a group of wet little geese were staring at her curiously with round eyes. The little geese are out of their shells! Out of instinct, the little geese will recognize the live animal they see for the first time after they hatch as their mother. As a result, Aimi became a mother goose, and the little geese always followed her, rushing to run behind her... In these little geese, Aimi found happiness again. However, according to government regulations, wild geese cannot be domesticated. In order to let these wild geese return to nature, in order to free Amy from the sadness of losing his mother, his father sold his beloved lunar lander, built a plane like a geese for Amy, and taught Amy fly. Amy flew the plane into the blue sky. Behind her, a long team of geese flew with her... Amy and her father flew the plane with the geese to the place where the geese spend the winter - Lake Ontario . They flew over rivers, over meadows, over cities. The 13-year-old girl and her geese became a beautiful scenery in the sky, attracting people's attention. Amy finally reached her destination and took the wild goose home. The large group of people waiting there cheered happily. Under the sun, Amy's wild geese play freely in the lake water, and the southern sun gently covers them with a warm light...

Fly Away Home quotes

  • [watching Amy lead the geese around]

Thomas Alden: It's amazing, isn't it, how they, uh, follow her around like that?

DNR Officer: Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's, uh, called imprinting. The first living thing a goose sees when it's born, it automatically assume is its mother.

    Thomas Alden: Huh.

DNR Officer: They'll follow her anywhere.

  • Thomas Alden: GET OFF OF MY LAND!
