Anno's ticket

The story reproduces the attack of EVA's apostles, Yashima's battle, and things made by people. Animated on-camera, while reproducing the short shots that are widely used in EVA, especially the camera switching during character dialogue. The narrative is also an EVA-style multi-character development, which weakens the protagonist's story driving force. In addition, there are also tribute elements to special photography.
However, the film itself was not a successful work. First of all, the special effects continue the style of Japanese special films, but they lack too much technology compared to the current mainstream monster movies. Of course, the tribute to the elements will increase the viewing experience, but the tribute to the special effects may not be acceptable to the audience. I'll see it as a limitation on the production cost.
Second, the ambiguity of dialogue and narrative is crucial to the success of EVA, and this interpretability enriches the connotation of EVA's works. But, for this Godzilla, the handling is really clumsy. The same is true of the multi-character narrative in this film, which makes the entire story difficult to progress. Obviously it's a simple story, but it was twisted into an EVA.
From the perspective of the actors, the director designed the whole scene to be very restrained, especially the first half of the congressional debate, where every actor was in a state of bitterness and hatred. I think as a film director, this is a big failure. Anno didn't understand the difference between movies and animations, that is, movies are supported by the acting skills of the actors. This use of actors, but also for the sake of the story as a whole, makes each character flat.
I admit that making an EVA is something to be proud of for a lifetime. At the same time, to make such a work, the whole person's spiritual world may have to be pulled out. However, since you have rested for so many years, from the perspective of a creator, there should be some new ideas. Step back 10,000 steps, since you have nothing to express and you are technically immature as a film director, you say it's a tribute and you don't have any feelings in it, so why are you making such a movie? I can only speculate that Anno is still short of money in his pocket this time, and he will cheat him for another sum of money under the guise of (fan) as a play (chao) ticket (leng).
I'm really worried that Anno will be broken like this.

It's not a monster movie in the traditional sense. It's very interesting to shoot. The focus is on the response of government agencies to the "giant unknown creature", and even the diplomatic setback. It is full of urgency and realism. All empty. Unsurprisingly, the whole feels very EVA, and the music is even directly used
