The first two films reflect some realities of the lowest level of Taiwanese society. Confused and decadent. The cast of the two films is basically the same. The shooting technique is similar to some earlier Taiwanese films. Not much new. There is not much dialogue between the characters. More characterization of body language. The theme of the film is also relatively consistent. That is, the lost focus on young people's love, sex, interpersonal relationships, family conflicts, outlook on life and values. The actor's performance is more realistic. But there is no room for breakthrough.
"New Police Story" is Jackie Chan's latest work. The cast is powerful and luxurious. Including Nicholas Tse and Yang Caini, who have relatively few works recently. The plot design of the film is novel, the audio and video effects are outstanding, and the content also has the element of Li Zhi in it. Coupled with Jackie Chan's signature martial arts action and a spectacular shooting location. Should be a work worth seeing. Most of the actors can only be regarded as middle class. The only bright spot is Wu Bai (estimated to be Wu Bai) who plays the childhood Xiaofeng's father in the film. Although there is only one lens. less than 15 seconds. But he played a down-to-earth, loving father. That look made me unable to bear to take a second look. The film is one of the more prominent gangster films.
What I am most looking forward to now is to see "Kekexili" and "A World Without Thieves". Otherwise, 2004 is really not worth missing movies.
