No one knew it was a hopeless movie.
A woman gave birth to four children with four men. She did not rely on the children to keep the men. They patted their butts and left, leaving behind a woman and four innocent children who were struggling to survive. Children are actually not guilty, but they have to wander around with their mothers who have no income. Women give birth before marriage, so there is no way for them to register their children with hukou, and naturally there is no way for them to go to school. Children can only stay in the house every day, not even the door and balcony.
This woman, compared to the men who abandoned them, has given children a lot of warmth. The daughters and sons love her and look forward to her coming home. Even if she is away for a month, the children will follow her every instruction, including not making a sound and not going to the balcony to play. But like ruthless men, women are also ruthless. Busy with getting married and finding support, she still regarded her children as a burden and ruthlessly abandoned her.
The eldest brother, who was forced to take on the heavy responsibility of the family, was only 12 years old. He had to plan carefully and spend the little money left by his mother, thinking about how to bring them up in the future. Calling the police will not be considered, because they value more siblings being able to live together and grow up together.
But he had no income, how could he persist, and in the end his sister died.
The film echoes the beginning and the end, and it begins with the eldest brother packing the dead sister in the suitcase to go to the airport. After the film's narration, the ending goes back to the airport for a burial. Buried in the airport is the big brother fulfilling his promise because he promised his sister to take her to see the plane. Just such a child, without a source of life, he still wants to do everything to realize his sister's wishes. On the other hand, their biological parents were happy for a while, only giving birth but not raising them, and did not fulfill their parental responsibilities, so they were simply not worthy of being parents.
No one knows about these children except the eldest brother. No one knows about life, no one knows about death.
