Synopsis
Born into an upper-class family, Patrick Melrow (Benedict Cumberbatch) is a witty playboy who had a tragic childhood and was often abused by his father. The mother also acquiesced to the situation. When he grew up, he also began to addicted to alcohol and drugs, using these to anesthetize himself, trying to forget the unbearable memories of the past. But in the end, he overcame it all, got married and had children, and returned to a normal life.
