I pretty like this movie.
It is in my pc for a long time that I didnt watch it. Well, today, yes, today, I decide to watch it.
5 women, 6 Jane Austen books. So they decide to find 1 guy to make the Jane Austen book club.
Sylvia just broke up with her hudsband Daniel(Wow he is the guy in NYPD BLUE, long time no see him, I am kinda miss him). Sad of coure.
Jocelyn, Sylvia's best friend. Single . She met Grigg at the elevator/bar and ask him to join the book club. And try to match Sylvia and Grigg.
Grigge, he has 3 elder sisters he is a sci-fiction fans. But he fall in love with Jocelyn.
Prudie, a high school teacher. Something wrong between her hudsband and fell in love with her student. Yeah finally, just right before the traffic lights, she decide not to crass the line and gave another try with her hudsband.
Bernadette, Sylvia's friend and set up the whole book club.
Allegra, Sylvia's daughter, les, young and pretty.
And one book per month and the end is Persuasion, which is about two ppl once in loved and fell apart and they wanted to give each other another shot. (I want to read that too).
And yeah, during the gethering each month, something change, something happen. The end is happy ending. Do you think Jane Austen's book is girly book? Do you think Mr.Darsy and Elizabeth will fight each other after marriage? I dont know but I do wish everyone got the happy ending..

The Jane Austen Book Club quotes

  • Sylvia Avila: Look, I adore Jocelyn, but . . . ah ha, if, "Loving is letting go," then whoever wants Jocelyn is going to have to pry her fingers loose, one by one.

  • Editor: Dear Ms. Corrine Mahern, we regret that we must decline to publish the three short stories you sent to us. 'Benny's Basketball' is strong narratively, but the depiction of your penis-waving retarded boy felt a little unkind. And isn't the title 'Separating Eggs For Flan' a bit obvious as a metaphor for your parents' divorce? Yet we confess that 'Skydiver' puzzled us most. Why would a beautiful, self-centered young lesbian jump out of a plane?
