Respect and distance between people

Mr Church has a lot of secrets, and there may be a lot of hardships in the process of growing up (who isn't), but the movie simply brings some things, and the focus is on their getting along. The people in the movie are encountering setbacks in their lives. Instead of giving up, they rebuild their lives on the ruins. Mr Church is like the moon, cool, calm and always there, what an enviable friend.

The relationship between people is really a bit like two hedgehogs who want to keep warm. If they get too close, they will stab each other. Only by keeping a certain distance can it be. In the movie, the heroine wants to know all the secrets of Mr Church, but gradually respects each other's privacy after growing up. When the heroine came back unmarried and pregnant, Mr Church did not ask too much, leaving a lot of respect for the heroine. In our daily life with others, there is a lack of such respect, and we ask too many questions and too much privacy.

Respect each other, a relationship will go farther, not demanding, not forcing, tolerance, such a relationship will be healthy. Give each other enough space and privacy. It is not easy to accompany each other for a while in this life. It is not easy to meet each other. Respect and cherish it.

Warmth, peace, growth, love and company, Eddie Murphy's rare drama. But the tactics and plot are really old-fashioned.

A warm story of love and companionship, the director paid tribute to his old work "Driving for Miss Daisy" by the way. The mysterious Mr. Church, who is not only good at cooking but also plays the piano, taught Charlie a lot, literature, music, and especially teaching her how to love. We also learned in this story what gratitude is and how to respect each other with the people closest to us. This Eddie Murphy won't make you laugh, but it will warm you like a cup of warm tea

Mr. Church quotes

  • Charlie: People act strange around death. There are those who talk about everything... but the person who died. Those who talk about only the person who died. Those who try to cheer you up. And those who can't help but make you cry. And then there are those who say nothing at all. Because they don't have to

  • Charlie: It's an awful feeling to love someone so much... that you absolutely hate them for leaving you. Even before they've gone.
