Presumably I have been poisoned by public opinion, or have fallen into the directional thinking of many French audiences

I decided to see "Le Gamin au Velo", which won the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes. I clicked to the Grand Cinema de Cineaste, and not only was I not late, but before the start of this article, there was an animated short film of about 10 minutes in addition to the art cinema's unique art film trailer. The film is very well made, and the production team is large. It's the first time I've ever seen a short film in a regular theater before watching the whole movie. I think this is probably one of the other outlets for the short film - it's like the warm-up performance of a lesser-known band before a star concert, like the storyline of "Cape Seven".

I saw a lot of the "Bicycle Stealer" and "The Four Hundred Blows" in the film "Le Gamin au Velo". ——Probably I have been poisoned by public opinion, or I have fallen into the directional thinking of many French audiences——As long as it is a story about two men and a woman, it must be "Jules and Jim", as long as the dialogues are filmed on the bustling street. "Breathless", as long as it is related to bicycles, it is "The Bicycle Stealer", and as long as it is about the growth of a little boy, it is all "Four Hundred Downs". The story told by "Le Gamin au Velo" does not have many highlights, but its close-to-real shooting methods, such as many long shots and improvisations by actors, make the narrative natural. Especially in the section of the playground, the irritable and unhappy mobile game music played a very effective role in intensifying the contradictions between the characters, and the entire playground scene was completed in one shot. When Beethoven's "Fifth Concerto" sounded, it reminded me of the musical treatment in "Blue". The film manages to make the audience pay attention to the fate of the characters - the child becomes irritable and stabs the heroine with a trimmer knife, and you are angry; the child falls from the tree and falls to the ground, and you are also worried for him. This is the power of reality narrative. In addition to the unexpectedly good acting skills of children, it is also the simple driving force of children to find bicycles and father's love that makes you think he is cute. The film, on the other hand, puts all its energy into strengthening that drive, and highlights the role of Samantha, played by Cecile de France. Samantha's motives do not stand up to scrutiny, but leave enough room for the audience's imagination, or rather, actor Cecile de France shows her unique feminine/maternal charm in this film, more than her in Clint Eastwood's "Hereafter". The performance is a hundred times better - the latter is the director's obvious manual operation, so her performance is not convincing.

It was only later that I learned that the directors of "Le Gamin au Velo" were the Darney brothers, and this was the third time they had won the Grand Jury Prize. Watching it together with "The Tree of Life" at the Palme d'Or, many people said what happened to this year's Cannes, while watching the chairman of the jury, Robert De Niro, speaking at a press conference, the market has nothing to say. In addition, the dazzling degree of the jury's stars is many times higher than the credibility of the judges' abilities, and it is really difficult for me to nod hard at their judgments. However, these two films are considered to be from different perspectives and levels of life, human emotions have been elaborated. If "The Tree of life" wins in photography and vision, then "Le Gamin au Velo" wins in scheduling and emotion, and it is a rare annual film
