I went to see this movie with full of expectation. After all, the first two were really good, with excellent singing and dancing, and interesting plot. However, this one seems to have lost its way, making the whole look a bit nondescript.
The Bella girl group reunited from their failed social lives this time, and wanted to sing again for the last time. Watching the entire movie, it is obvious that this one tries to focus not only on singing competitions, but more on spreading the plot to the main characters, triggering multiple branches, and showing each role through the creation of story branches. Growth and joy, anger, sorrow and joy. It's a pity that I want to try but I can't do my best. This not only makes the original song and dance show much worse than the previous one, but also lacks the grasp of the plot fluctuations. To a certain extent, it puts too many complicated stories together for depth. It is not suitable for this series, but its possibility cannot be completely denied. What the film needs to do is to add growth content while maintaining the original quality.
It is not difficult to see that the opponents in this movie only have the advantage in the first half of the movie. Bella’s eagerness to show their self-seeking fame and fortune immediately turned into just enjoying singing after seeing Stacey’s baby, and then it was repressive. Victory, I really shouldn't ask for too much psychological description and how good the plot is for this type of film, but at least I can be so casual and sloppy. The idea of growth can be instantaneous, but the real growth is not so overnight. Then came Fat Amy’s Daddy issue. This incident became a turning point for the Bellas to regain themselves. Everyone’s failed life changed for the better. Even Satan left Lily’s body to make her speak loudly, and then "Family is The core fireworks such as "support rather than restraint" are exploding in various ways. To be honest, fat amy is a highlight of the whole movie, and 80% of the laughs are contracted by her, but unfortunately the characterization and plot setting of this movie are really a hodgepodge, and there is no real focus.
In terms of songs alone, only the final chorus is the most attractive, which fully pushes the farewell feelings to the highest point, and the lyrics are also very moving. I personally like the black-and-white documentary editing at the end of the film, and the combination of the trilogy footage really makes people feel that "this is probably the last time I have seen the Bellas".
There shouldn't be a fourth one, please don't make a fourth one, it's best to click till it ends. In addition, I didn't expect that the freshness of rotten tomatoes would be less than 30% before I went. Even now I still think there should be 50%, but the audience popcorn score is relatively middle. It can only be said that at least in North America, this movie was not a success.
