The director of "Snipe" is Alan Barillaro, a new generation of Pixar animators. It took about 3 years for us to see this work in terms of creative preparation and production.
This 6-minute short film without subtitles made me feel warm after watching it.
First of all, the film tells a very popular story. The mother wants to let the child be independent and let the child hunt scallops by himself. I don't think the story itself is very novel, it's just a common phenomenon in nature, but he added it to this story to learn the predation method of small hermit crabs and opened a bug.
His parents, while a little worried about his ways, didn't dampen his self-confidence. Although I know that his approach is different from ordinary people, I still support him, give him encouragement, and even feel gratified for his growth.
As we said, the education method advocated does not mean that I have arranged everything, and you must follow the path I designed, but to respect the child's ideas and let him do what he likes to do.
Then I think you should have heard that the BGM of this film is very fresh and pleasant, and it is in line with the story narrated in the film. The overlapping of BGM expresses the inner world of the characters. And the director's free use of colors made the short film give me a greater impact.
Overall, the short film still brings me a lot of positive energy, and it deserves to be rated as the best short film.
