"The Story of the Story" - a dark fairy tale for adults

The movie tells three stories. During the viewing process, I always guessed that the protagonists of the three stories will be connected, but there is no such thing. These are just three stories that happened in the same period. There are only two scenes where the three protagonists of the story are together in the film, one is at the funeral of the queen's husband shortly after the film begins, and one is at the end of the film at the coronation of the princess.

We call this type of film a dark fairy tale, which is nothing more than adding the rules of the adult world to fairy tales. In the fairy tale endings I watched as a child, the prince and the princess always lived happily together. In fairy tales, the prince can be a junk, and the princess can be Cinderella. But in this movie, slaves can never get rid of their low status, even if you are exactly the same as the prince. Identity is a threshold that you cannot cross.

If the twins show us class differences, then changing the skin of the old woman is to strip the greed of human nature naked in front of us. An old woman who was about to step into the coffin because the king misunderstood that she was a young and beautiful woman actually put herself on the king's bed by mistake. If the elder sister was blinded by desire from the beginning, then the change from the timidity of the younger sister to the madness at the end, I am afraid that the benefits at the beginning were not big enough to make me not turn back. So after seeing the young and beautiful sister, she no longer discouraged her, but instead asked her to take herself by her side, and asked her how to be young, without concealing her jealous heart.

When my sister asked others to skin her, she met two people one after another. The first one rejected her and thought she was a lunatic. When it came to the second one, her sister wisely used money to lure him. We can hypothesize what would have happened if the younger sister used money to lure her when she met the first person. I have no way of knowing, this is the unfathomable nature of human nature, you can never know where people will place their bottom line in the face of desire.

Of the three stories, my favorite is The Princess and the Beast. This story can be said to completely break the Disney version, and it can be said to have a great impact on me who grew up watching Disney fairy tales. There are three impact points. One beast is a wild beast, there is no castle, no gentleman's etiquette, and the life of a savage is completely; the second is that the prince who did not rescue the princess, the fate of saving the princess is death (or five kills); the third is that the princess pretends to admit her fate to the beast The fatal blow to him after bowing his head (this is the most impressive part of the whole film).

Some people say that the princess succumbed to weakness and killed the circus family, and that she took advantage of beasts or something. All I can say is that everyone grows up through a process. The death of the circus family can be said to be a turning point in her growth process. In fact, when she asked for help, she never thought that someone would die because of her. In the face of adversity, as long as there is a little bit of hope, people will try to hold it back. It's human nature and you can't erase it. Then, when the savage is retaliating wildly, what can she do as a woman who has no power to tie the chicken, she can only pull the mother not to die (obviously she underestimated a mother). At the end of the film, what the princess looked up to see, the man hanging on the tightrope, was the only thing she could give—reminiscence.

Finally, the princess returned to her country and put on the crown. From a little girl who can only imagine and cry, she has become the queen of a country. The story ends here, but in fact, it is conceivable that the queen with such a period of experience may be another Ekaterina.
