It is said that "The Story of the Story" is adapted from the Italian fairy tale collection "Five Days Talk". I have only watched "Ten Days Talk", but I have not watched "Five Days Talk". But no matter how I look at it, I don't think it belongs to the category of fairy tales, it is more like a fabled dream story. The film is mainly composed of three short stories, which are not connected to each other. The first is the story between the queen and the son she gave birth to through painstaking efforts, the second is the story of the dark version of Beauty and the Beast, and the third is two old sisters, one of whom is rejuvenated and married to the king, but the other cannot accept it The ultimate crazy story.

Basically, the plot is absurd, the logic is weird, and the human nature is dark, but the narrative is not difficult to understand, and the plot development is very interesting, which is unexpectedly interesting to watch, not like "Mulholland Drive". 's face was bewildered. Aside from the film's absurdity and curious expressions, the three stories carefully selected by the screenwriter are actually about the three greatest desires in a woman's heart: love and marriage, beauty and youth, and her own children. The first queen sacrificed everything to give birth to a son, and her emotional dependence on her son reached an incomparably distorted level. In the end, she sacrificed herself to rescue her son and his brother. The greatness of maternal love made people ignore the almost perverted personality of the queen. The second princess fell from her childish fantasies about love and marriage into the hands of a terrifying monster husband, and finally became strong and returned to her hometown. The third pair of old sisters, one of them was rejuvenated by an adventure, and realized the second spring that countless women have been yearning for. Familiar. The film does not take any critical vision, but only uses a cold and exaggerated method to peel off the woman's heart. The director's skill is still quite good.

Although three male kings also appeared in the story, the first king risked his life to hunt sea monsters for his wife's pregnancy, and soon received a lunch box; the second king raised a huge flea full of evil tastes. And married his precious daughter to a half-orc; the third king is probably the Italian version of Edison Chen, a "self-propelled artillery" who can't do without a woman every day, accidentally unspoken rules in the dark with a wrinkled old lady (This shows that the director is also a bad person). These three men are all women's foils, and they are completely placed by the director as pure supporting roles. It feels like a reversal of the image of Italian men, haha...

In addition to the plot, the film's use of color is sophisticated and the costumes are elegant , especially the choice of scenes is very careful, many natural scenes are quite beautiful. It is a good choice for those who like dark and absurd styles.
