"Assistant to the Stars" was on Friday night. The storyline is very simple. At the end of the 1930s, in London under the
shadow , Pettigrew, the daughter of a priest, was a governess, rigid and self-disciplined. After
offending all employers, he lost his job in middle age. The dispute caused her to lose all her luggage.
Down and out, she tricks herself into a job offer to survive, and into the messy personal and social life of her employer
, Delysia, a starlet looking for a chance to become famous. With his wit
and adaptability, Pettigrew has repeatedly saved Delysia's social crisis in emergencies and won Delysia's
friendship and trust. There are three men around Delysia at the same time, one is a nightclub owner who
provides comfortable material life, and the other is a playwright who can give Delysia a chance to play the lead role in a new play,
and the poorest pianist among the three except for There is nothing but true love for Delysia.
Pettigrew moved Delysia, who was bewildered by fame and fortune
, with integrity and sincerity. He finally had the courage to face his heart, gave up the pursuit of fame and fortune and returned to true love. Pettigrew, as a preacher, also helped Delysia get out of the confusion and harvested his
own happiness.

The film is a typical British film. The reserved ladies in the film are a bit hypocritical, while the
elegance is rigid. The British humour is
constantly , making this film against a gray background light and interesting.
Watching such a film in such a cold economic climate makes people feel warmer.
