This is a "pseudo" inspirational movie that exudes British humor. In my opinion, it is far more romantic than an inspirational movie. And it's a movie that teaches people how to learn to be happy.
The film begins with Gina Wei standing in front of the London station in despair, waiting for the government to provide food relief. The economic depression in the 1930s was most vividly expressed in this station. In order to survive, she impersonates actor Delicia's house to become her social secretary, helps her solve various emergencies, and helps her find true love.
I often wonder, what does true love look like? This movie gave me the answer. When Gina Wei told her love experience, she said, "Life is too short to seize the opportunity". Yes, if you really love someone, there is actually no special reason, just because the person by my side can only be you, that's all.
As an actress who relies on her youth and beauty as her capital, Delicia must have both sides to protect herself, because she doesn't want to lose everything she has got, and she doesn't want to be just the daughter of a steel mill worker. It is the access to high society. As for the three men she has a relationship with - Philip, Nick, Michael, in fact, she knew from the beginning that the person she wanted to marry was Michael, but she needed Philip's writer dad to earn stage roles for herself, and Nick for her She provides a wealthy life, and these are things that Michael can't give her. They really have nothing but love, so the material Delicia began to reject Michael. Until Genevieve makes her understand that it is not easy to find someone who loves you, but you should cherish it. At this point, she gave up those so-called glory and halo and chose her own love.
The ending of the movie is a bit rushed, which is why I gave it four stars. But it is undeniable that Joe's confession to Gina Wei is really the warmest love story I have ever heard. Compared with Joe's former fiancee Isari, Genevieve's frankness and sincerity are the most moving. As for Isari, like I said before, "I like you, no reason." When Isari likes Joe more than himself, there is no place for her in love.
Everyone is looking for their own happiness, everyone has different ideas, and maybe not everyone needs the nourishment of love. But for me, what this film is trying to convey is happiness in my eyes. Moreover, the happiness I want is indeed by my side.
