If the story is viewed from a narrative point of view, it will feel looser. But this film is actually more like a Ukiyo-e, depicting life in the world of civet cats, human plundering of resources and the history of civet cats' struggle. What we see is not a story, but a history, or to use the favorite word of Hollywood blockbusters, "dead." But it does not rely on the grand and grand scene, but the meticulous observation and overall performance.
Compared to Jun Miyazaki's tight story and idealized ending of Princess Mononoke, this ever-changing civet cat gives us the cruelty and helplessness of reality.
