Meet Socrates, meet yourself

It's a thought-provoking film with a lot of wisdom in it.

But as the old man in the movie said, wisdom is not knowledge, and wisdom must be practiced in person. Although many principles are understood, if they cannot be implemented in action, they are just empty principles and useless.

For example, live in the moment. In life, the thoughts in my mind are either regretting the past, looking forward to the future, or judging myself and others. Although I know that people can only live in this moment, they always lose this moment. Seeing the present as stubborn, unsatisfied and unhappy, I want to pursue the poem and the distance.

There is a saying in "University" that "is absent-minded, turn a blind eye, hear without hearing, eat without knowing the taste", which accurately describes a person's state of losing the moment, and there are many scenes in the movie showing this state.

The deepest impression is that the old man took Dan to climb the mountain at the end, and while climbing, they talked about the three laws of life, contradiction, humor and change. The process of climbing the mountain is pleasant, which is the meaning of the journey. Whether the result is a flower or a stone, it is not worth the three-hour experience. The same is true of life.

The movie also has a title called "Late Night Gas Station Meets Socrates", and the gas station has a good meaning. When people are powerless, they need help from others to refuel. The old man also said in the movie: A gas station is a service station, and there is nothing more meaningful than providing services to others.
