What I don't understand is that, according to Lin Yutang's opinion, the Chinese are the most similar to the French. Reality, dream, humor, sensitivity, and three equals Chinese. Why did Chinese films lose their vitality after being brilliant in the 1930s and 1940s, and briefly in the late 1980s?
