Richard gradually discovered that it was no accident that he was attracted to the photo, and that this woman was indeed inextricably linked to him. In order to find the truth and to pursue his sweetheart, Richard tries to go back in time, back to 1912, when he thought he met the woman.
His method of traveling through time and space is relatively rare. He hypnotizes himself by arranging his surroundings as before. Richard did what a professor had taught him, and when he woke up, he found himself in the Grand Hotel in 1912. The woman, actress Elise, was performing at the venue at the time.
The two finally met and fell in love. But the happy time was so short, Richard accidentally touched the coin he brought and was pulled back to reality. When he woke up again, the pocket watch that should have stayed in 1912 was back in his hands.
I watched Somewhere In Time again a few days ago. Although I have watched it countless times, I still sighed for a long time.
A very touching movie, especially the ending is so tragic, everyone who watched it with me would cry, wiping tears and scolding me cold-blooded beside me who was indifferent. In fact, I was also very sorry, but not because of the romantic plot in it, but because I thought that maybe everything was just Richard's dream, and that pocket watch was just a gift from an old woman to a stranger on a whim. one's fantasy.
Then I will remember a passage I read somewhere: What if you fell asleep? What if you were dreaming while you were sleeping? Suppose you came to the garden of heaven in your dream and picked a beautiful and strange flower? What if you woke up and found a flower in your hand? What will you do then?
Wouldn't it be sad if everything was just dreams and fantasies?
The thing that caught my attention the most in the whole movie was the photo of Richard meeting Elise for the first time at the Grand Hotel. Richard, who was just looking at other things, turned his head back inexplicably, and the music sounded, as if a voice called softly in the air: Come back to me, that kind of fantasy, it's really beautiful.
When the two first met at the beach in 1912, Elise said to Richard who suddenly appeared, also inexplicably: Is it you? It is then that a sense of destiny arises.
Maybe many people would like to believe that Richard really went back to the past, but I still hope this is his dream. Because even an illusion doesn't detract from the beauty of the story, and in 1912, no one was sad.
A photo that attracts endless love and pursuit
is here, Elise said the sentence that everyone will remember: Is it you? In
