Based on the aerial story of World War II, a propeller plane hero. A captain with unparalleled driving skills and a glamorous reporter, driving a backward and advanced water-air amphibious aircraft vs. a giant robot, a series of bizarre adventure stories. It feels that the plot is very compact, with more than 100 minutes of story intertwined one after another, without too much redundancy.
Many big-name movie stars appeared in this very distinctive science fiction film, but it was a pity that the recognition was not enough. Jude Law's hair is really a big problem, or it should be a big hit for a few more years, looking at the look in Sherlock Holmes, and then looking at this young image, it's a bit embarrassing. Gwyneth Paltrow is a true goddess, intellectually elegant and a little sexy, completely infatuated. Angelina Jolie still doesn't change her charm. The heroic military uniform and the blindfold have a strange charm, but I still choose Gwyneth Paltrow.
This style always feels like Japanese animation, just like the animation when I was a child was interpreted by real people. Full CG production, at the time, the investment was not cheap. I like the imagination of the director. Huge robots are commonplace, and airplanes that can fly into the sky and dive into the sea are not original. This is the first time I saw a bomber that flaps its wings like a bird, and this impression is relatively deep.
I have no plot for steampunk, but I still hope that there can be more such imaginative works. Of course, the brightness has to be adjusted up, or it is really bothersome.
