The Ordinary Routine and No Routine of Death

(Short review contains spoilers)

Common routines: bed rest, skinny, ventilator, weak farewell, burial, prayer, burial, relatives and friends crying

There are no routines: Fuck, cry and laugh, drive by yourself, avenge death by facing death alone, take the dog with you (heartache dog for a second)

Death in the torture of cancer is painful and ugly, and the professor, as a gentleman and delicate (see his clothes and the dialogue when he drives out some students for details), must resist such an ending.

The last T-shaped road, whether going left or right, seems to be a different path, but in fact it is the same road, because it is the same road. There is no turning back, and the choice between left and right cannot be separated from ordinary routines. There is only the field ahead, and there are no routines.

Say goodbye to relatives and friends with a positive and healthy image, rush into the field, and become a shining star in the sky.

The Professor quotes

  • Claire: The person one loves at first is not the person one loves at last. Love is not an end. It's a process through which one person attempts to know another.

    [pause]

    Claire: That's it.

    Richard: And, in a word?

Claire: In TWO words, deceptively simple.

  • Peter: Why are you wearing sunglasses?

Richard: I have cancer. I'm supposed to wear sunglasses in unusual places.
