I don't watch many British movies, but another year is indeed a rare good movie. Flat but full. There are no happy endings and ups and downs in the plot, some are just plain, trivial and tender, but they cause me to think deeply.
Happiness is typical, unhappiness is universal. Tom and Gerry's happy life is surrounded by a bunch of unfortunate people and families, Ken, Marry and even Tom's older brother. The life of Tom's family is like a model room for people to admire and pilgrimage. They are also playing the role of benefactors, tolerant and kind-hearted friends around them, giving them warmth and love. No, there is no condemnation, their satisfaction and kindness come from the bottom of their hearts. Happiness is rare, but it does exist, and in return, they take their responsibilities. This is life~
