love yourself every day

Another Year, a good movie. In a little over two hours, it gave me a lot of good and deep stuff. Or not only profound and beautiful, but also sigh, cherish, immerse, and think. The soundtrack is soothing and timeless, flowing quietly in my heart, as if the years have no trace, and it seems like a fleeting time.

Life does not need to be profound, but life really depends on yourself. No one can help you change yourself, and also, ask yourself in a dilemma if you want to change, if you want to change, and how to change.

What is a friend? It is our companion who shares our happiness and our worries and sorrows, and a witness to our growth and aging. The essence of human beings is loneliness, and everyone must recognize this somewhat cold reality. So being alone is a problem that a person needs to face in his life. Profound happiness almost all comes from a person's personal experience, and it is difficult for others to experience and empathize with it. It doesn't matter, it doesn't really matter.

Another eternal philosophical proposition, the question of "who am I", also runs through the entire film. Where does happiness come from? From every little detail in life, from every specific thing of personal experience, but also from each person's own heart. This world is not lack of beauty, but lack of eyes to discover beauty.

Struggling in adversity, beating in the quagmire, the immediate loss is not necessarily a certain kind of gain. Don't complain about life, don't always fall in the same place. Experience needs to be accumulated, and the mood should be wider and wider as the years go by. Don't feel sorry for yourself, don't chatter, don't always compare yourself to others. Even if you miss the good old days, you should look to the future and start doing it.

Man, save yourself. Ken couldn't save Mary, and Mary didn't like him. How Ronnie's son Carl became what he is today is not explained in the film. But I wonder if Ronnie is a qualified father and husband. If he has an objective evaluation of himself, maybe his family is not what it is now. Of course, everyone in the family has responsibilities. It is ideal if every member can reflect and make positive improvements from time to time. But maintaining some sober introspection is a must.

Each of us has a different story. We all have our own joys and sorrows in life. But when you think about it, God doesn't have to be particularly bad for you. Envy other people's family harmony and happiness, in fact, you also have inner potential that can be tapped. You don’t have to follow the footsteps and templates of others. For example, you don’t have to force yourself if you don’t know how to cook. You don’t have to apologize if you didn’t buy flowers on the way here. The joy of life is to be found by yourself. If you really have no amateur interest, you must at least know how to make a phone call before going to a friend's house. You have self-knowledge, Mary, do you know it? Do you know yourself?

How can your friends give you life advice again and again? Even if she has clearly told you what to do and what not to do, in the end it is up to you to identify what to do, how to do.

Opportunities will not always favor someone, nor will they always bypass someone. Be more aware of your life and yourself. Opportunity will knock on the door.

It makes people quiet, makes people think, life itself can be without any emotion, maybe it's just that people have emotions. The soundtrack of the movie reminds me of Yasujiro Ozu's movie soundtrack. No matter what the plot and the fate of the characters are, they are so light, and this is the most moving feature of [Another Year]. Is this God's vision code? This movie is as great as [Tokyo Story]! ★★★★★

Really impotent! ! Young people want to die after watching it, middle-aged people want to die sooner after watching it, and old people die after watching it.

Another Year quotes

  • Tom: I seem to remember you got banned from a number of pubs in Hull for shouting about nothing when you were a young person.

Ken: [retelling the event] "Ken, we like you. You're a good bloke, you're good on the darts, but if you talk about politics again, you're barred!".

    [both burst into laughter]

  • Mary: But he wasn't a bad person. He loved me.

Tom: Sounds to me that he was a duplicitous shit.
