At the beginning, the novel setting, world view, etc. are very suitable for my taste. Personally, I prefer dark anime. I was very excited about the first half. Excitedly, I put the label of God's work in my heart.
Perhaps the greater the expectations, the greater the disappointment.
From the middle and late stages of the animation, several important characters died a bit hastily, and some changes of the protagonist were a bit abrupt. I feel that the story has not been explained clearly. It should have been deleted during the adaptation, especially the ending. .
The ending I imagine should be the racial conflict between humans and parasitic beasts; the relationship between humans and the earth; the contest between human nature and parasitic beasts; the protagonist's awareness of his own position; these should all accumulate in the second half to a big explosion. But after reading it, I felt that explosives were kept buried in front of the animation, thinking that it was a nuclear explosion at the end, and the result was a grenade.
BOSS did not bring any drastic changes to human society. Humans did not realize why parasitic beasts were born in the end, and it was an understatement to say that it was like an increase in the crime rate. The protagonist of the final fight also kept jumping left and right in escaping and fighting, and defeated the BOSS without feeling much awareness and growth.
In short, this animation is one step away from God in my heart, and it is a pity that it is one step away.
