This is my first time writing a movie review, and I re-read it in the middle of the night. Just write a little about my feelings before I get stuck. Originally I liked "The King's Name", but I liked "Second Five" more. Maybe I naturally prefer to find resonance and think about life in some sadistic plots.
Compared with the previous two films, Weathering With You is more intense in terms of realism and idealism, and the conflict between these two polarities has also become an important reason why the film is not easy to please. In the first half, the tone of realism is heavier. The protagonists, as the bottom of the society, have repeatedly hit the wall, unable to work, sleeping in Internet cafes, saving "missing girls", etc. (This scene reminds me of another magical reality work "Accidental". Lucky Sign/Colorful"), it's really breathless and sweating for the lives of the protagonists.
But probably in the middle, the movie gave these people at the bottom the weapons to resist their fate - the male protagonist's gun and the female protagonist's sunny ability, but they are almost impossible to exist in reality, thus opening the door to the fantasy in the second half.
The idealism in the second half, the desperate desire that the film wants to express, is more shocking to me than going through time and space to fight against the comet in "The Name of the King". It's a pity that many people, including me who watched it for the first time, couldn't adjust the tone of reality in time. Using realistic logic to see that the male protagonist used a gun without a brain, was caught and fled by JC, caught and fled, very It is easy to feel that the plot is messed up, hate the male protagonist, etc.
However, this is a fantasy animation! Since Qingnu appeared and started the cool drama routine of making money, it has been difficult to substitute it with realistic logic. And what the male protagonist represents is the kind of youthful impulse that we can't see in reality! Even in the shackles of reality, it is difficult for us to agree that we can do everything for love, but it is not impossible in game animation.
Speaking of ourselves, if we don’t talk about saving people, we just say that in order not to rain torrential rain, who would really sacrifice our loved ones? What's more, this is a world out of control, sacrifice can only be exchanged for temporary sunny days, and there will be new sunny girls and rainy days in the future. On the other hand, human development can adapt to the climate and change the environment. In addition to relocating after three years, it seems that everything is business as usual or even better. The decadent uncles in the front have also succeeded in their careers. The choice of male and female protagonists will not really affect world.
So in the end, the male protagonist realized that what they changed was not the world, but only his lover and their love—at this moment, he suddenly realized that the core of the story is the love of a child against the background of seemingly saving the world or not. . The self-denial and sublimation of the male protagonist in this paragraph is also a rare ingenious reversal in the movies I have seen.
In the end, I sighed again that "Weathering With You" failed to let most audiences survive the first impression of "pulling" and re-appreciate this progressive thinking, which is also a great regret.
