This is probably the ghost that is closest to my childhood knowledge of ghosts. He wears a white sheet and has two holes in the part of his eyes. The cost of the film is only 100,000 US dollars, and the funding comes from the last film "Peter's Dragon" directed by director David Lowe. It is with such a simple "disguise" and few lines to tell the story of a husband who continues to accompany his wife after his accidental death.
The husband who died in a car accident turned into a ghost looking at his wife who was in pain after returning home but could not comfort her. Later, the wife had a new lover and left the home. The note left by the heroine in the cracks in the wall became the meaning of the ghosts and spirits waiting for life. He scared away the new tenants, but the room was quickly torn down after it was empty. The ghost chose to jump off the building to travel through time and space, returning to a hundred years ago.
In that room, when time went back to the first time they were led in to see the room, drinking and chatting on the porch, he also became the source of the strange sound at the beginning of the film. After finally reading the note, he was wiped out, leaving only the sheets scattered on the ground.
This is an emotionally-supported movie, with a slow pace. The large, long shots and soundtrack may make some audiences uncomfortable, but these shots also take you to the soulfulness behind the loneliness and despair. Time stretches here, turning into vicissitudes of life.
At the beginning of the movie, they hugged each other in a deep sleep, and kissed each other in a long and gentle way. The director did not use a lot of space and events to express the story and love between them, but only used this long kiss to love each other.
When her husband passed away, the hostess quietly looked at the body, covered it with a white cloth and walked away quickly. However, it seemed that she would collapse and cry in the next second. Many movies are about the life of the person who lost their partner, but this movie chose to quietly observe the life of the separated lover from the perspective of a ghost.
The ghost saw his wife come home and stuttered the pie until he vomited, from absent-mindedly eating mechanically to constantly stirring the fork. To interpret the grief silently, but put more weight.
The most important theme in the film is "Waiting." The ghost asked the ghost waiting in the opposite house who he was waiting for, and the ghost answered that he didn't remember. In the vast and boundless time, the greatest persistence has also lost its meaning. The ghost in the opposite house said "I don't think they're coming", and then disappeared. Standing in place, looking at the ghosts and ghosts of time and high-rise buildings, I must feel more and more unimportant.
And what exactly is written on that piece of paper? The audience has no way of knowing.
