classic work

I thought the father was hateful when I saw it before, but I found the greatness of this family after watching it. Everyone is not perfect. Almost every character in the film is like this. The role of the father is the most suitable to illustrate this point. Maybe some of his actions hurt other people, but his love for his family, his paranoia about his dreams are admirable, and in any case, this is a great father role. Some plots may only be fully appreciated by audiences who have experienced a similar life. There is no way for people who have been happy to appreciate this film.
Regardless of the evaluation, I will feel that this is a classic work and it is worth recommending! I really like Woody Harrelson's performance here, the best actor!

The Glass Castle quotes

  • Jeannette: [sighs] My parents are squatting in an abandoned building on the Lower East Side.

    David: Jeanette...

Jeannette: They were homeless before that for three years before that, which was pretty much how they raised us. My dad is not developing a technology for bituminous coal but he could tell you anything you want to know about it. He is the smartest man I know. He is also a drunk.

    [inhales]

Jeannette: never finishes what he starts and can be extremely cruel. But he dreams bigger than anyone I've ever met. And he never tries to be somebody that he's not. He never wanted me to either.

    [Exhales]

Jeannette: I'm sorry, but I have to leave.

    David: Go.

  • Jeannette: You did all this for me?

Rex: Since when is it wrong for a father to take care of his little girl?
