Since his mother was undergoing chemotherapy, Connor (Lewis McDougall) has had nightmares every night. In his dreams, there is always dark and gloomy weather, strong winds, screams and hands that can’t be clenched no matter how hard you try. He was tortured, he always had nightmares with the same content. Until one day an uninvited guest appeared at home, the demon with the ancient aura told Connor that it was summoned by him, and it would exchange three stories for Connor's own true story. Connor is not afraid of demons, because what he is facing-the most beloved mother (Felicity Jones) is going to death step by step, which is even more terrifying. Connor feels weird at night, and his daytime life is also very difficult. Connor's father (Toby Kebbel) left their mother and son, and the grandmother (Sigourney Weaver) who came to take care of their lives was unhappy with Connor. In addition, he had to endure those bleak days in school-exaggerated sympathy from teachers and bullying by classmates. Gradually, Connor discovered that there was a certain pattern in the time of the devil's appearance every night, and the unclear stories it told seemed to be metaphors, whether it was the messenger of death or the miracle that Connor was looking forward to. The story that Connor has been reluctant to fulfill with the devil is actually the darkest secret in his heart.
