The psychology of warriors is far more contradictory than I imagined

War is when two groups of teenagers, in different uniforms, fight each other for no apparent reason. History always records the best stories. The film tells us various details about the war through technically colored images and the dictation of those who witnessed the First World War. The psychology of the soldiers is far more complicated than I imagined. Or longing for the romance of war, or to escape the boredom of their hometown, or simply to conform to the herd, let a group of teenagers join the army even if they lie about their age. At first, I left the house with a feeling of fear that the war would end before going to the battlefield, but the hard work during the training made me want to flee. When you really step on the battlefield, you get to experience the harsh conditions, complaining about things like unwashed gasoline cans, water, rats, lice, dysentery, and a never-to-eat stomach, but at the same time recall the humor of the war and the pleasures of suffering to pass the boring time. At the sports meeting, but also with some joy. Salaries are paid every two weeks here, and many boys will become men. You can rest when you come back from the front line, but it will be even more difficult if you are unfortunately selected as the logistics on the rest day. When the two armies faced off against each other, they were not afraid of death, but broken hands and feet. The success of the battlefield is not to kill the enemy, but to die without pain. Enemies who are desperately trying to kill in battle can become one after the battle. For the teenage enemy soldiers who are the same as himself, they will think that most of them are good people, and they will be full of admiration and respect for them, but the watch that should be plundered should not be let go. The soldiers don't care whether the war is won or not, they just want to quickly end this useless war. When the war really ended, there was confusion about the future, a feeling of being unemployed. Even so, the hope is never to fight again.

Soldiers who took off their uniforms had to face social discrimination and misunderstandings from their families. At that time, people looked down on war a little, maybe just like the soldiers before joining the army, thinking that war is horse riding and bayonet, a bit of the romance of knights. I didn’t understand war in peacetime either. All kinds of books and movies about World War I, World War II and Anti-Japanese War emphasized the purgatory side of the world, focusing on the animal side of human beings and the heroic side of sacrifice in a special environment. This movie or documentary allows me to see all the living people, hear their voices, and feel that they are just like you and me. They are a group of ordinary people who have hatred, love, bloodthirsty, compassion, selfishness, and great love. people. It seems more convincing to me to have a group of ordinary people who have fought in war tell me how pointless war is.

The writing is not good, and I don’t like to write articles. Maybe it is because of the bad writing that I don’t like to write. I have written so much ramble, and I don't want to resonate with others, so I should leave a memory for myself.

I hope PJ can do more projects like this or Forgotten Silver, and it's not a waste of time.
