I watched "They Don't Get Old Anymore" yesterday. Although the picture quality is not clear, there is still the feeling of photos, and there are black and white parts, but it does not affect the viewing experience at all. In my heart, this film is much better than "1917". Or there is no comparison, because one is telling the truth, and the other is a movie after all.
"They Don't Get Old Anymore" is actually a documentary. The pictures are added with the narration of the survivors of the war. The real war scenes don't even need too much music rendering, just watch the real positions. The tanks, bombs, bombing behind the artillery, swamps, the real state of the frontline soldiers, etc., were all learned for the first time through this film. I don’t think it’s possible to shoot the artillery bombing behind the artillery, and then the roof tiles will fall off, as well as the real firepower of the mines and bombs, and the state of the prisoners, etc. I think I've seen a lot, and I think this film is very meaningful to me, although I don't know much about the military.
But when I recommended it to a colleague, they didn't feel the same way as I did, even though my colleague was still a boy. He didn't even read it, and I was a little surprised. It's really that everyone's point is different. He thinks "The Irishman" is pretty good, but I think it's okay too.
